WUMAG TEXROLL GmbH & Co. KG, which hass been engaged in the production of cylinders and machines for 60 years, continues the production in its facilities located in Lower Rhine. When looked closer, it can be seen that the roots of the company date back to 1989. The company that used to manufacture wagons, was named as WUMAG, Waggon-und Maschinenbau-Aktiengesellschaff Goerlitz. 1948 is the date when today’s WUMAG was established. WUMAG, which was mainly engaged in the production of machinery and components and machine assembly and maintenance during the Second World War, manufactured its first cylinder for Maschinnenfabrik Franz Mueller in 1955. The company that provide solutions for various fields, was divided into two companies that are Wumag Elevant and Wumag Textoll.
WUMAG TEXTROLL exports the thin-walled heated and chill rolls to all countries of the world. Morrison, Tsudakoma and Benninger are among the important customers of the company. WUMAG TEXTROLL has been the leader for many years in the manufacturing of steam-heated drying cylinders. The company performs production according to the slogan “Always a step ahead of progress.” In addition to the cylinders it manufactures for various fields, WUMAG produces cylinder dryers for fabrics, drying cylinders for nonwovens and technicaş fabrics, smoothing and calibrating calenders, gelling and conditioning machines and thermo-fixing and stretching machines.
Over the past years, the thick-walled rolls gained importance. Precision rolls with up to 9 m length for heating, cooling and pressing of panels such as textiles, plastics or paper, are manufactured in modern facilities. In 1997, WUMAG supplied heavy rollers to Austria and Japan for the fastest paper machines. WUMAG, has become a brand, preferred especially by the original equipment manufacturers (OEM). The cylinders of the company that appeals to the overseas countries like the USA and Japan as well as Europe, are used in various textile mills.

Drying cylinder/Cooling cylinders are other cylinders of WUMAG TEXTROLL, which also manufactures thin-walled steam cylinders. With an experience of more than 50 years in this field, energy saving is achieved in the drying applications as well as in practice. The range of WUMAG TROLL cylinders used in heating, drying and cooling applications, includes cylinders with a diameter of up to 3400 mm, a roll length of up to 15100 mm and a maximum individual weight of 22 tons.
Exhibited Its Filament Innovation at ITMA
The company presented its new Filament Cylinder Dryer for the first time at ITMA Barcelona. This integrated dryer is presented as an alternative to the cost intensive godet dryers which does not compromise on quality and user friendliness. Each cylinder in this system has its own drive and can be individually adjusted.
Another innovation WUMAG TEXTROLL presented at ITMA is the energy recovery system PLUS.
WUMAG’s new Steam Plus system, which increases the drying efficiency, is also used to imporve the efficiency of cylinder dryers. With various add-ons, the system can reduce the energy consumption by up to 30 percent.
