Producing world-class production with 15,000 square meters production and R&D facilities in İzmit, Istanbul and Mönchengladbach, Pro-SMH stands out with the production of slasher, sizing and direct warping machines which are widely used in dyeing indigo dyed warp yarns for denim fabrics. Pro-SMH had received a great deal of interest in the denim sector with its slasher indigo machine, which was designed to work at 2 meters.
Bringing a new breath to the sector with slasher machines that they produce, Pro-SMH offers quality, cost-effective and fast solutions to industry needs by engaging in serial production. Cüneyt İşman, one of Pro-SMH Founder Partners, said that the domestic slasher machines have been produced at the end of their long R&D works and that they produce at the world class quality standarts in terms of product quality. Mr. İşman said: "We attached great importance to R&D works in the production of our machines. We have produced unique machines for which we can give a guarantee of use for many years. Especially we took a very important step in software and metallurgy. All materials used were selected according to the function of the machine and the place used. All of the used iron and stainless metal components have long life blends. We have been providing our customers with quality guarantee for many years since the machines we manufacture are assembled with superior technology and excellent workmanship.”
Stating that PS-N and PS-W sizing becks are the products introduced to the market as a result of the R&D works of many years, Cüneyt İşman gave the following information about the R&D works carried out with the cooperation of German and Turkish engineers: “We carry out joint R&D works with the German and Turkish engineers from old Sucker. Now 45 of our 100-person team consist of engineers. We will open our R&D center soon. We are aware of the increase caused by the economic and ecological effects in the textile sector. Thus, we want to offer machines to our clients who want to compete in the world markets.”
Pro-SMH Signature in World Markets
Answering our questions about the production capacity and market activities of Pro-SMH, İşman stated that they currently produce 13 sizing machines and also direct warping machines at the same number for their customers. He added that the annual production capacity is 5 in indigo machines.
Pointing out that their recognition rate as Pro-SMH is very high, İşman gave the following information about their sales network: “We have significant experience resulting from the past of the management team in the sector as well as a remarkable sales network. We have been working with 24 countries for long years; we have been providing service, spare parts and upgrade modifications. Since the trust of the clients in us increased significantly thanks to these works of many years, we can market our products in many countries like Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Egypt, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, China, Bangladesh and Pakistan.”
Stating that they started to create an agency network with the increasing demand in the machines, İşman added that, “Previously, clients had to find us directly but now we established a professional agency network throughout the world. In this respect, a firm was established in Germany with Mr. Alfred Esser who carried out successful works in the old Moenus Group (Sucker, Babcock, Krantz, Stentex). This firm will carry out our world-wide marketing activities in Germany. Besides, Turkey is a very important market for us and is an important source for our R&D works. In line with the importance attached to the Turkish market, we offer the machines produced to the textile manufacturers with a wide marketing network. In the last one year, we sold 4 slasher indigo, 12 sizing machines and 7 direct warping machines. Of course, the support of the Turkish clients is remarkable and we expect their supports in the upcoming periods as well.”
“There is no machine group that cannot be produced in Turkey”
Stating that the biggest problem is the lack of support to the domestic machine manufacturers in Turkey, İşman emphasized that there is no machine group that cannot be produced in Turkey when necessary support is received. İşman added that, “In Turkey, it is really difficult to ensure trust in the textile machinery sector. You need to prove yourself with your works in the market in order to achieve trust. Our experience of exceeding 20 years in German Sucker firm created a serious mutual trust with our clients. We are grateful to the support provided by some of our clients. They supported us, and they took the initiative for our business. However, I think that this business has been belated in Turkey. This is not only related to our business, there is no work that cannot be conducted in all machine groups in the textile sector in Turkey. What is needed is the support of clients, state and responsible institutions. When we look at the research, the machinery purchase of Turkey from foreign countries is about 2 billion USD annually. We can make these investments with our machines.”
Ground-Breaking Innovations in the Denim Sector
Manufacturing ground-breaking machines in Turkey with its technological infrastructure and features, Pro-SMH is distinguished from its rivals with its price policy. Stating that they trust in their machines in terms of competition, İşman gave the following information: “We hear many news in this respect. Especially domestic and foreign rivals pretend as if non-existent machines exist. Currently, we are the only firm that can produce and operate an indigo machine with double head and 2-meter working width. As of today, we started to manufacture and install the slasher indigo machine of 2.20 meters width.”
Lastly adding that they will offer new developments in dyeing technology as well, İşman said that, “There are significant new developments in dyeing technology as well. I can say that we are coming with innovations that will change the denim market. All of these are results of works of many years. There will always be rivals, but we try to surpass our rivals technologically by making good and quality production. Our aim is to be the first in the world all the time.”
