Printing Cost Decreases with Mimaki

PIMMS Group that supplies printing technologies for many sectors, particularly textile, acts as the distributor of Mimaki in Turkey. With Mimaki’s new technologies and equipment, they offer advantages in speed and cost to producers. Thanks to Mimaki wide format inkjet printer TX500-1800DS and Mimaki sublimation transfer ink introduced in this period, PİMMS Group takes Turkish textile manufacturers to a more competitive position.

Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd., added the capability to print direct to textiles with the introduction of the Mimaki TX500-1800DS, capable of printing at 150 square meters per hour on pretreated polyester fabrics. This printer, together with Mimaki’s new Sb300 sublimation ink, eliminates the need to use transfer print papers. The machine also delivers enhanced capabilities and productivity to the textile apparel and soft signage markets. With its capability of printing at 150 square meters per hour on transfer paper, Mimaki TS500-1800SB sublimation printing machine stands out as the fastest product in its field in the world.

Fastest Machine in the World

The TX500-1800DS has many features to facilitate the production of textile apparel and soft signage producers. Capable of printing directly on fabrics at 150 square meters per hour in high speed mode, TX500-1800DS has newly developed printheads that are 150% faster than conventional models in four-colour mode. The printer that achieves a maximum speed in this way includes six staggered printheads. The embedded heater in the printer accelerates the drying period of fabric. Thus the contamination of dye during production process is prevented and the need of re-processing led by excessive dye contamination is eliminated and quality and productivity is improved.

Mimaki Europe Marketing Manager Mike Horsten said that, thanks to TX500-1800DS, textile, apparel and soft signage producers using pretreated polyester fabrics can apply printing directly on the fabrics in the same speed without the intermediate transfer paper phrase and do not need to make any concessions on quality. Horsten said; “Whether applying on transfer paper or directly on the textiles, our sublimation ink offers bright colours. The operators who use our initiative RasterLink 6 RIP program can easily convert special colours into certain Pantone colours in order to provide colour integrity in total and apply printing up to six colours”.

Mimaki Dyes Deliver 20 Percent Savings

Mimaki, a major manufacturer of wide format inkjet printers, has a strong position in the market, with their sublimation transfer inks as well. The new inks of the brand for which PIMMS Group acts as the distributor in Turkey deliver 20 percent savings in costs. High density and low vapour emission (VOC) Sb53 inks produce brilliant colours in JV33, JV5 series and in sublimation transfer printing machines in other models.

New Sb53 sublimation transfer inks, which are offered by Mimaki and are packaged in 440ml and two-litre containers, replace Mimaki Sb51 and SPC-0370 sublimation transfer inks, which have been discontinued. Mimaki announced that they will continue to offer its Sb52 sublimation inks. Sb53 sublimation transfer inks are defined as high density, low vapour emission (VOC) inks that come in blue, red, yellow, black, light blue and light red.

Mimaki Europe Marketing Manager Mike Horsten said that new inks cost 20% lower than their predecessors, Sb51inks, and stated that, in this way, customers increase their profitability while making savings. Reporting that high density Sb53 inks produce brilliant colours, Horsten explained that light fastness has been tested using the ISO 105 – B02 standard.

It was also explained that the low sedimentation rate of the inks also works to prevent uneven colour on printed output. Sb53 inks were reported to be compatible with a wide range of Mimaki printers, including the JV33, JV34, JV5, TS and TPC families, yet compatible printers may require a firmware upgrade.
