Belgium-based Handsaeme Machinery that produces cutting and finishing machines for carpet and textile industry, plays an important role in increasing productivity, with their flexible machines. Due to the financial crisis in global market and the fluctuations in demand, carpet and textile manufacturers are interested in less production lines working effectively. Manufacturers also prefer technologies that produce carpets rapidly and easily in different types and qualities and that allow production in fewer amounts. Handsaeme Machinery has picked up on this trend seen all over the world and stands out as a flexible machinery manufacturer.
Providing flexible solutions to their customers, the company has proved to be so again with the new finishing line installed for a partner in Saudi Arabia. The different parts of these lines are standard designs, but they have been combined in such a way that this production line can handle a variety of different product qualities and measurements, thus significantly increasing the productivity of the production process. For example, a single finishing line can handle both tufted and woven carpet, different kinds of backings and different sizes of carpet.
Demands for Various Degrees of Automation are Met
“We generally offer various degrees of automation, from semi-automatic to full-automatic machines, depending on the needs of the customer” explained Joost Lambert, R&D Engineer at Handsaeme Machinery. Lambert continued as follows: “For instance, our last client for whom we made installation in Saudi Arabia preferred a full-automatic finishing line. The rolling and packing happens completely automatically, which means that the company does not have to worry about the availability, performance or cost of operators. The packing and rolling process runs continuously and automatically all the time. It is a bigger investment at first, but it certainly pays off in the long run”. Undertaking the management completely in 1986, Roland Handsaeme focused on tuft machines and special machines.
