The manufacturer of chemical products, Clariant which is based in Switzerland, handed over its business lines of textile chemicals, paper expertise and emulsion to SK Capital. The transfer transactions which are approved by the two companies are expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2013. Stating that the businesses lines of textile chemicals, paper expertise and emulsion generated an estimated CHF 1.2 billion in sales in 2012, authorities expressed that these businesses also employed 3.000 employees. It was emphasized that the divested businesses which equal approximately 15 % of total Group sales also constitute of 14 % total workforce. It is expressed that the company Clariant will experience a great change after this sale. The company is aiming to reorganize its business lines of leather services and detergent as the second phase of the process after the sale.
Clariant will continue to take radical decisions in order to reach its important targets that it decided for the year 2015. It is expressed that the company will head towards the markets showing strong growth, in which there is an intense competition, in line with 2015 targets. In a statement after sale, Hariolf Kottmann who is CEO of Clairant expressed that Süd-Chemie becoming part of Clariant in 2011 returned an important profit to to the company. Expressing that they will focus on increasing the profitability in 2013, Kottmann said: '' Clariant will be much more profitable company by converting most of the sales to the growing business.''. Making evaluations about the sale, Barry Siadat who is the Chairman of the Board of SK Capital said: ''We will serve our customers, who appear in global market, in a way more active. We want to solve our problems in the field of supply chain and logistics with this sale performed in this regard.''.
