Toyota, deemed as a globally strong industrial power in many fields from automotive to textile, and Trützschler, one of the leading producers in textile machinery field, have decided to cooperate, covering the marketing segment as well, through the production of combing machines. With this agreement, TICO, which is an origin company of Toyota with significant experience in the textile and combing machinery industry since 1926, aims to bring practical solutions for textile industry. Trützschler, the other partner of the affiliate, is known as a specialist for draw frames in the short-staple range, and has been building spinning preparation machines since 1888. It is stated that the cooperation to be performed by using their extensive know-how will bring major benefits for the sector. While works on the process are still continuing, the first product has come out. The prototype of the combing machine, first product of the joint work, was exhibited at ITMA ASIA CITME.
Toyota, having significant know-how on automotive production, aims to reflect its experience on building weaving machinery with special servo motor technology in the comber. The executives state that the motors manufactured by the company have the logic of operating textile machines and that they believe their successful work will be realized very soon. It is specified that the technologies used in the past have reached their limit of performance and claimed that the production will be performed smoothly for the latest product. From technical aspect, synchronous motors used by Toyota are regarded as example. It is said that Toyota uses separate motors to drive the combing elements on both sides of the machine, and this minimizes the torsion of the elements and the vibration of the machine. In addition, the significantly reduced combing condition variance of the 8 comb heads improves sliver quality. It is emphasized that this machine’s potential of performance by far exceeds the previous state-of-the-art.
Trützschler’s contribution to the project is a new head stock with draw box and can changer. This work includes the experiences gained in building draw frames, equipped with highly dynamic levelling. It is seen that DISC MONITOR, the latest draw frame quality sensor, has also been integrated to the system. This provides the data for automatic self-optimization of the machine. Due to the individual drive technology of the combing elements, it is automatically optimized. Furthermore, deviations in lap weight no longer create problem, since sliver count is permanently monitored and corrected when necessary.
