Kordsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, is currently implementing an important social responsibility project that will meet high school students with advanced material technologies. The Vocational Education Collaboration Protocol, between the General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education (MTEGM) of the Ministry of National Education (MEB) and Kordsa, signed in July. The protocol, signed by MTEGM General Manager Ali Karagöz and Kordsa CEO İbrahim Özgür Yıldırım, aims to provide an educational environment integrated with theory and practice in the field of technical textiles, to train students under the climate enforced by their profession and their faster transition to employment right after graduation.
Employment Opportunity to Students
The pilot training on the subject will commence at Sabancı Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in İzmit, where Kordsa was founded. The project will ensure about the training of 11th and 12th grade students under the climate required by the profession. Throughout the 5-year project term, students’ development and field training procedures will be taken under evaluation continuously. Vocational training plans will be conducted within the program to be jointly determined by Kordsa and the Ministry of National Education. Successful students whom graduated from the program will be given employment opportunity depending on their in-house performance evaluations.
