Textechno Combines Different Test Methods in a Single Product

Vice General Manager of Textechno Herbert Stein GmbH & Co., Dr. Stefan Fliescher, and Sales Manager, Marcus Hardelauf, answered our editorial board’s questions regarding the fields they expertise in test equipments and their thoughts about the Turkish market.  Mr. Marcus Hardelauf, Sales Manager of Textechno  gave information about the company’s history and informed that Textechno conducts studies only on test equipments since beginning of 1950’s and now is worldwide one of the leading manufacturers in of textile testing instruments. Hardelauf gave the following information about the company’s foundation story: “Textechno  was founded in 1949, by Mr. Herbert Stein who held the position of Head of Development in the field of textile machine drives with the Berlin “Allgemeine Elektrizitäts-gesellschaft (AEG)  during World War 2. In this position he established a great number of diverse contacts with companies producing textiles and textile machinery.  After World War 2, he moved to Mönchengladbach, a former textile area in Germany. The first registration of the “Herbert Stein Engineering Office” took place in the year 1949. Already one year after the first registration of the company it was renamed to “Textechno Herbert Stein”. Since the middle of the 50’s, Textechno produces producing, and  developes of testing equipment only.’

“Our Philosophy is Combining Different Test Methods in a Single Product”

Marcus Hardelauf informed the beginning, Textechno has always been singular, compared to other suppliers in this field, in that all mechanical components as well as electronics and software have been produced in-house with state of the art machinery . The results are innovative testing systems for the man-made fibre and cotton industry with a high degree of automatisation. A speciality of Textechno is to combine several test methods in one instrument.”

Dr.Stefan Fliescher informed in this regard, that Textechno had demonstrated for the first time at ITMA 2015 the new COVASLIVE, a capacitice evenness and linear-density tester for slivers & rovings.

Marcus Hardelauf agreed to Fliescher’s words and continued, “Another instrument is STATIMAT DS, a new generation of the Textechno automatic tensile testers for yarns. As a highly integrated measuring instrument it offers a symbiosis of the three most important test methods for yarns in one instrument: tensile test – evenness test – count measurement. One of the further innovations presented at ITMA is the COVAMAT. This is Textechno's first automatic capacitive evenness tester for filament yarn industry. The new sensor design, automatic package changer and high-speed yarn twister features meet all requirements for an effective and reliable quality control.”

Intense Interest From Turkish Visitors For Textechno at ITMA Milano

Hardelauf stated that they had intense interest from Turkish visitors at ITMA Milano, “The visitor amount of the show, was very high, and we had  a lot of customers especially from Turkey. During the show we sold one instrument to a Turkish customer. So especially the Turkish market was successful for us.” he said.

“We Are Aware of How Strong The Turkish Market Is For Us”

Hardelauf answered our questions regarding their activities in the Turkish market and their sales expectations, and gave the following explanations: “We have an agent in Turkey; the company INTA. Usuallly our general manager for lab projects, Dr.Kugler, travels 3 to 4 times per year to Turkey and visits our customers together with INTA Turkey. Textechno will also participate on the upcoming ITM Show at the booth of INTA.”

Hardelauf noted that Textechno wants to grow in the Turkish market and continued his words: “Our growth target is always present. However, it is very difficult to foresee the market situation for this upcoming year, but generally, we hope that we can have a further good year, as we had before. We know that the Turkish market grows and we are aware how important of the Turkish market is for Textechno” he said.

“We Are The Market Leader in Testing Single Carbon Filaments”

In 2004 Textechno has taken over “Lenzing Instruments” in Lenzing/Austria which until that time were a section of the Lenzing AG, one of the world’s largest viscose fibre producers. The product range of Lenzing Instruments in terms of testing equipment and online measuring technology represents a valuable addition to Textechno’s field of activities. Textechno and Lenzing Instruments join under the new label of “Textechno Group”. Beside instruments for the classical textile industry Textechno also offers a wide range of  testing equipment for technical textiles. Our STATIMAT 4U is world-wide the only automatic tensile tester for high-tenacity yarns and our FAVIMAT+ is nowadays the standard tester for testing Carbon single-filaments. Also AKSA in Turkey is using this machine for testing their Carbon filaments.
