In our interview with Alfredo Modiano representative Selim Sarfati, an evaluation was made on the current outlook in the industry. While assessing the performance of the textile sector in the Turkish market which slowed down in 2024, following a parallel trend which experienced globally, after three very demanding years following the pandemic and said, ‘’We experienced a stagnation in our sales like others in 2024 as well.’’ While revealing their exhibits at the fair which the company is intended to showcase at their fair stands at Gaziantep Textile Machinery Fair GTM2025, Sarfati disclosed LYBRA Air-jet spinning machine and the new model PROXIMA winding machine of Savio SPA under their representation and said, “The textile sector clustered around Gaziantep and its surrounding provinces is very important for the companies we represent and for us. We value our long-standing cooperation with the regional textile industry and we want to exhibit our newly developed machines at the GTM2025 fair. As acknowledged, the flexibility which Savio offers for its machinery at high standard, high productivity and full compliance excellence to different environments without compromising production are widely recognized and become sought-after features both in the world and in Turkey. Scaglia, an Italian company amongst spinning machinery manufacturers and the oldest representative within Modiano, was established in the 19th century to produce machinery for the textile sector. The company has only been producing ring and roving tubes for a long time. Simet, which started production in Italy in 1967, currently produces yarn winding and folding machines.
Itema, an Italian company that Modiano will introduce in the field of weaving, produces weaving machines. The Ommi brand, which was established in Italy and for which Modiano represents, produces opening, mixing, cleaning and feeding lines for all types of textile production. Ommi, which holds the title of the first Italian manufacturer in its field, can make customer-specific production. Tecnorama, another brand that Modiano will introduce and which operates in the field of textile finishing, produces dyehouse automations and pipetting machines. Founded in 1984, the Italian company Tecnorama draws attention with the large scale investments it makes for R&D every year.
