
Rieter, the yarn technologies manufacturer, continues supporting young professionals with the competition organised every year traditionally. Among the students receiving the Rieter Award-2012 International Student Award which is a competition aimed at young and successful professional, there is also a Turkish student. Postgraduate student in the Science Institute of Erciyes University Çiğdem Çalışkan was granted this award with her study titled “Composite Yarns Containing Copper Electromagnetic Shielding Properties of There Yarns”. Rieter awarded students and young professionals who create difference in the field of textile technology in the event held in September, 2012. In addition to Turkish student Çiğdem Çalışkan, the other awards were given to students from China, Bangladesh, Indonesia and India. In the ceremony held in the head office of Rieter in Switzerland, Md Reajul İslam (Bangladesh), Çiğden Çalışkan (Turkey), Arpita Kothari (India) and Fitri Lestari (Indonesia) and Qi Xiao (China) received their awards.
Hosting the winners in its head office in Switzerland, Rieter introduced its firm to young professionals closely by providing information about its product range and production lines. Students also took a trip around Switzerland. Since 1989, awards given by Rieter have encouraged students to enter into the sector. World leader in the short fiber yarn production, Rieter provides the opportunity of manufacturing out of various fiber mixtures. Beside to the yarn preparation processes, the firm also stands out with four spinning technology which is currently available in the sector. Switzerland-based firm operates in 19 production points in 9 countries, employs 4700 people.
