The Share of R&D Studies Increased
After the sales amounting to 840 million franc in the first half of 2011, the firm experienced losses in the first half of this year and the most striking success of the firm was declared as its expansion to geographically different regions. The countries placing the highest amounts of orders included China, Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan and the other Asian countries. However, it was stated that the order amount of Indian market remained low. When sales reservations are considered, Turkey ranks first and is followed by China and the other Asian countries.
Paying importance to R&D studies, the firm continued its development in this field by spending 29,9 million franc in the first six months. Having spent an amount of 19 million CHF in the same period of the previous year, the firm also increased the amount of money allocated to the R&D studies.
Investment Programme Takes Shape
The authorities explained that demands for short fibre yarn machine will increase by 2.3 % by 2030 and emphasized that conscious investments are needed to this end. Expressing that demands from China and India will always increase, the authorities emphasized that Rieter will achieve an annual growth rate of 5 % on average. It was especially stated that efforts would be exerted for the local markets in Asia in the ensuing years in the Premium segment. The firm wants to increase its market capacity in China and India and it will also make use of the increasing demand in the air jet spinning systems. An investment amounting to about 90 million CHF is planned by the end of 2012 and start of 2013. Decreasing its operating profit margin one point to facilitate its investments, Rieter targets to achieve an operating profit margin at the rate of 12 % in promising years or 9 % at the least.
Rieter Won the Swiss Energy Award
Rieter was awarded the Swiss Energy Award “Watt d’or” which was given by the Swiss Federal Energy Office for the 7th time. Ensuring energy saving with the new suction tube of the ring yarn machine developed by Rieter Machine Works, the firm aroused a great interest among energy experts. This award is given to energy saving projects and innovations in the field of energy. In this competition to which 74 entrepreneurs applied this year, Rieter received the “Energy Technologies – Special Export Award”, a new award. Being on the focus of new developments concerning energy saving for a long time, Rieter stood out in such topics as sustainable cost reduction in addition to highly important environmental factors.
The Part Which Brought the Award Has an Immense Impact on Energy Saving
“Suction tube ECOrized”, the new suction tube of the Ring yarn machine is defined as a small part with a huge impact. This product also provides about 10 % saving in ring yarn machines using more than 1600 spindles. Considering that 60 % of the energy consumption of the whole yarn plant is used by the ring yarn machine, an energy saving of 10 % is said to be of great importance for enterprises.
