TENCEL® and Merino Wool Combines Luxury and High Performance
Merino wool, a fibre material preferred for a long time, is a product used as raw material both in clothing and home textile sectors in all periods. Merino wool stands out as a type of fibre highly preferred in the luxurious clothing segment. While TENCEL® achieves perfect match with the merino wool, merino wool which includes such enriching factors as moist management and smooth fibre surface generates textiles appealing to the clients who love performance and luxury.
Andreas Gürtler, Head of Lenzing Business Development and Outerwear Department, expressed that, “TENCEL® achieved numerous successes with merino wool. This fibre pair preferred in the collections of international brands is frequently used in active clothing segment, in particular.” Gürtler also said that they expect the use of this blend of TENCEL® and merino wool will become common in classical suits, dresses and shirts.
Stating that the fabric emerging from the combination of TENCEL® and merino wool is silky and soft and has a nice drape, Hale Saraçoğlu, Business Development Manager of Lenzing Turkey, added that this blend stands out with its heat regulating feature along with the sensation it creates on the skin. Saraçoğlu added that, “Both fibres which absorb moisture very well create a special microclimate effect on the skin. While merino wool combined with TENCEL® becomes handier in summer, TENCEL® combined with merino wool becomes handier in winter.”
