Kordsa Global introduced its products developed with environmental awareness in the framework of the program of ‘‘Green Products'' in Tire Expo 2014 for tire manufacturing and design industries. In Tire Expo, which is one of the leading events organized in the tire design and manufacturing sectors, Kordsa Global's new product drew a great deal of attention. The product was produced with a technology which changes the formula including harmful chemicals such as resorcinol-formaldehyde, which have been used in the production of tire cord since 1935 all over the world, for the environment and human health.
Giving information about the new product, Executive Chairman and CEO of Kordsa Global, Cenk Alper said: ''Kordsa Global has succeeded in changing the formula which has been used for 80 years in tire cord processing . In the formula that we developed, more environmentally friendly chemicals are used instead of resorcinol and formaldehyde including toxic effects.” The technology, which was developed thanks to the company's extensive R & D works, offers the possibility to produce tire cord which doesn't include resorcinol and formaldehyde. This highly special finishing prepared by Kordsa Global out of resin and latex solutions was granted the “Environmentalism Success of the Year” award of Tire Technology International Awards 2014.
A Supplementary Investment of TRY 20 Million in İzmit Plant

Strong, High Denier Yarns
Kordsa Global produces high-resistence industrial nylon 6.6 yarn (470 dtex and over) and high-resistence industrial HMLS polyester yarn (550 dtex and over). Nylon 6.6 yarn is produced from adipic acid and HMD (hexamethylene diamine). Polyester yarns are DMT (Dimethy Terephthalate) derivatives.
Kordsa Global uses "melt spinning" process technology in yarn production. Polymer is produced with polymerization reactor system or through melting of polymer chips. Molten polymer is sieved and then it is coated with finish oil. The physican and mechanical features of polymer, which is subject to cold and hot rolling processes, becomes ready for industrial applications.
