Yarn, which is one of the most important components of the textile and garment as the locomotive sector of Turkey, is also one of the most important export items of our country. However, stating that polyamide and gimped yarn production is unable to meet the needs, Koloni Ltd. Şti General Manager Süleyman Batur expressed that they have been serving the sector since 2008 by importing polyamide and gimped yarn. Answering our questions about the activities of the firm and yarn preferences of the Turkish textile manufacturers, Süleyman Batur stated that they started serving in the sales of dyeing and finishing machines by obtaining the distributorship of two Italian brands in Turkey alongside yarn.
Batur gave the following information about their activities: “As you know, we have been serving the sector since 2008 as the distributor of Lycra for Turkey. The existing domestic production is not sufficient for consumption and is not affordable. Thus, we started providing our customers with door delivery sales service by importing from the Far East. Also, we represent the Spanish Ductel which manufactures airjet textured yarns and such technical yarns as coolmax and thermolite.”
Textile Manufacturers Want Affordable Price and Quality
Stating that affordable price is of great importance in the interest of the Turkish textile manufacturers in imported yarns, Süleyman Batur emphasized that clients are sensitive about quality. Batur added that, “Our clients prefer both affordable and high-quality yarns due to the price competition throughout the world. In particular, exporting clients are highly sensitive about that the products they purchase are first quality. This is because of the fact that yarn quality directly affects the product quality. In the products that we import, we offer significant advantages to our clients in terms of quality, amount and payment.”
Sharing his assessment about the year 2016 and answering our questions about the targets for 2017, Koloni Ltd. Şti. General Manager Süleyman Batur stated that they had a successful year as a firm in 2016. Batur added that, “2016 was highly successful for our company. We gained a sales turnover above the budget targets. As for 2017, we aim at increasing the service we offer to the Turkish textile businesses via various types of yarn.”
Stating that they, as Koloni Ltd. Şti., obtained two new distributorships in 2016, Batur added that, “With the Italian Danitech and Sintec, we started to serve dye houses in the machine sector as well. Along with Danitech, the latest generation fabric dyeing machine, we offer Sintec, which manufactures open width sanforizing machine and tube sanforizing machine, to our clients. We believe that this brand will draw attention in the Turkish market in the shortest time.”
