Aksa Acrylic, the world's largest acrylic fiber producer with a global market share of 19 percent and a local market share of 70 percent, revealed its statistics and performance devoted to the third quarter of 2020. According to the nine-month period figures, Aksa Acrylic achieved a net profit of TL 135 million in the third quarter of the year, with the strong demand enforced during second quarter that is a period influenced by the distructive pandemic.
It was noteworthy that DowAksa, the joint venture of the company, made a positive contribution to the net profit figures in parallel with the increase in turnover.
The World's Acrylic Fiber Production
Aksa Akrilik Board Member and General Manager Cengiz Taş said, “According to the data revealed by the end of 2019, we conduct one fifth of the world's acrylic fiber production. When we put China into the center of our conversation, a country with nearly half of the world's acrylic fiber production and consumption and when we look at the figures about the global market except for China it is clear that we have a total share of nearly 50 percent.’’
