The winners of the Futuretex Istanbul Fabric Design Competition organized by İTHİB received their awards. Innovative and original designs were showcased at the fashion show held in Istanbul.

The winners of the Futuretex Istanbul Fabric Design Competition organized by İTHİB received their awards. Fabrics, which turned into a piece of art in the hands of designers, were showcased at the fashion show held in Istanbul. Özge Ulusoy was the presenter of the award ceremony. More than 400 distinguished guests attended the ceremony under the home ownership of Ahmet Öksüz, Chairman of İTHİB Board of Directors. While emphasizing on the competition which is of great importance for the future of the sector, Ahmet Öksüz said, “Through our competitions, innovative ideas are evaluated and brought into production. We see design as one of the key elements of value-added exports. That's why we also support our qualified young brains who will work in the field of design.”

Singer Presented Sewing Machines to All Finalists

In the competition, Seçil San received the winner award and the Singer special award, Gülşah Yılmaz entitled to challenger prize, and Arife Gedik received the follower award. The winner of the İpekyol special award was Betül Tezcan. Singer also presented sewing machines to all finalists. Emotional moments recorded on stage while Gülşah Yılmaz, who ranked second in the competition, receiving their award. The award dedicated to their daughter by the challenger and it was stated that their daughter was behind the achieved prize which earned today. The challenger honoured their daughter on stage who was present in the hall with a warm welcome and shared their celebration.

Designer Pillows Sold for the Benefit of Earthquake Victims

The fabrics prepared by 10 finalists in the competition were turned into pillows with the design of stylist Siren Ertan Kayalar. Pillows specially designed for Futuretex were put on sale at the event. The pillows, which attracted great interest at the event, sold out immediately. It was announced that all proceedings from the sale will be donated to the children affected by the earthquake disaster centered in Kahramanmaraş and the Turkish Armed Forces Mehmetçik Foundation.
