World Turkish Towel and Bathrobe Festival which is held within March in Denizli, Buldan, Babadağ and İstanbul each year, was celebrated in Sultanhamam in İstanbul with the host of The Association of Turkish Home Textile Industrialists and Businessmen (TETSİAD). With World Turkish Towel and Bathrobe Festival which was started seven years ago, it is targeted to increase the quality, value and recognition of Turkish rowel and bathrobe.
Ali Sami Aydın, President of TETSİAD, who talked at the festival, said “As you know, we have many products which provide Turkish name to remember all over the world and add value first country brand and then Turkish economy. One of these is Turkish Towel that has a thousand years weaving tradition in its history and is one of the most important pieces of Turkish Bath culture...” Aydın said Turkish towel achieved to rank as first at real towel choice of the consumers with its features such a well water absorption, easy drying and antibacterial quality.
Aydın who stated that the festival matters for all manufacturers and exporters, said, “We need to develop design, innovation and presentation techniques to reach wider markets and create the conditions of increasing brand export by adding design and collection into the product quality” Mustafa Koltuksuz, Chairman of the Board of Denizli Textile and Clothing Industrialists Association (DETGİS), who attended to the İstanbul edition of the festival emphasized that they gained an important festival to Turkey especially to Denizli. After the speeches, cortege was done towards Sultanhamam Square by wearing red/ white bathrobes.
