Jones, winner of International Woolmark Awards modernized skirts and jackets by applying on geometric foil prints and hand embroideries by inspiring from wool utopia. Designer who participated from United Kingdom used 17, 5 micron and 19, 5 micron Australian Merino wool for couple clothes and 23 micron for accessories. Teatum Jones got into a partnership with a factory which has been specialized on guipure lace manufacture field in France for innovative and vivid geometric Merino wool lace. Designer Jones who manufactured a high quality lace fabric by combining the flexible wool he improved with merino yarn said ‘’We featured usage of innovation and Merino wool at textile development. The most effective feature impressing the jury is our development for usage of merino technics and methods. In the final, we took care of choosing the strongest techniques and developing these. We feel excitement and pride for the success of our first step. This competition is a significant opportunity for our experiences to convey to our customer emphatically.’’
“I Love The Romance of the Clothes’’
One of the jury members of the competition which gathered the important names of fashion world, American Vogue Magazine Fashion Writer André Leon Talley commented on the design taking award: I love the original concept, expression style of the design and the romance of the clothes.
Thakoon Panichgul who is the Main Creative Executive and one of the jury members of the competition said ‘’Award holders used wool innovatively. They showed a craftsman quality by creating a three dimension quality with wool lace, color blocks and double- face wool’’. Director General of The Woolmark Company, Stuart McCullough who said that Teatum Jones presented wool in an authentic and commercial style, uttered that they were excited on the perspective for Australian Merino wool.
