If Wedding Fashion which is the biggest and only bridal exhibition of Europe was organized seven times. The exhibition organized at İzmir International Exhibiton in between 13th and 16th February hosted visitors more than 79 countries. The event significant business connection recognised was followed by 18.366 professional people,2.774 people of whom are foreigners, in addition to important visitors coming from 74 provinces of Turkey. The exhibition was organized by İZFAŞ with the supports of Ministry of Economy of Turkey Republic, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, TMHGF-Turkey Fashion and Garment Federation, and EGSD- Aegean Clothing Industrialists' Association.
Being followed of exhibition by 18.366 professional became a hopeful thing in terms of sector. The exhibition was followed by 14.995 people in the version of the previous year. While wedding suit, bridal, dressy and accessory are offered to visitors, important marks exhibited their products from USA, Bulgaria, Iran, Italy, Japan, Canada, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Jordan in addition to firms coming from Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Bursa, Çanakkale, Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, Sakarya at the exhibition in which 187 firms participated, 25 people of whom are foreigners. Europe, the Balkans, the Middle East countries came into prominence among the countries sending visitors to the exhibition. African countries followed these countries.
Demands attracted attention for next year
While it is stated that the firms abroad participating in the exhibition were happy by leaving, it is emphasized that especially representatives of French and Italian firms requested reservation for next year. It is explained that the firms coming from Lebanon wanted to make a presentation at the larger area in next year. IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Exhibition organized for just Professional visitors won recognition the most with the events. Designer Tuvana Büyükçınar Demir met with fashion fans with the ‘Ephemera’ collection which is specially prepared for the exhibition by Demir at the opening gala for exhibition participants. Zeynep Acar did closing fashion show of the exhibition. The collection ‘Contemporary Queens 2013’ of Zeynep Acar was firstly seen at the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Exhibition. While bridal and dressy fashion of 2013 was presented at the fashion show, mixed and solo fashion shows were introduced to visitors during the exhibition.
Attendance to bridal design competition attracted attention
Bridal Design Competition special performance fashion show is performed with the collection ‘Last Dance of Butterflies’ of GökhanYavaş who is the winner of 2011 in this year. Bridal Design Competition organized 4th times in year offered a new competition and being discovered opportunity to young stylists designing bridal. The competition with a theme ‘To Touch Time’ in which 104 designers participated with 312 designs was carried out with high number of participants. Okan Karakuş was the first, Hatica Kübra Çiçek was the second and Tuğçe Özcan was the third at the competition. Besides, 15 designs which was in the final part was exhibited at the event area during exhibition. Bridal Design Competition organized by Izmir Fair Services Culture and Art and Aegean Clothing Industrialists’ Association aims to support young stylists.
Mehmet Şahir Örs who is a member of board of directors and general manager stated that participant firms and visitors spent fruitfully at the exhibition. Örs who stated that foreign firms went back to their countries with the important connections emphasized that presentation helped them to get a successful result. While Örs was emphasizing that their basic target is to be the first concerned of bridal fair in the global area, he finally explained next edition would be on January 22-25, 2014.
