UTİB R & D Project Market Ended

The 6th R & D Project Market which was held between 3-4 April with the slogan "From idea to product, from the product to the market", has ended.

UTİB R & D Project Market Ended

The "6th International R & D Project Market Summit" organized by Uludağ Textile Exporters' Association (UTIB) with the support of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) and BEBKA development agency and TÜBİTAK, was held between 3-4 April. To the 6th nternational R & D Project Market which was held in Orhangazi Hall for 2 days, Bursa Governor Münir Karaloğlu, AK Party Bursa Deputy Mustafa Öztürk and hundreds of domestic and foreign businessmen attended. UTİB President İbrahim Burkay whom made a speech at the summit's opening, said that International R & D Project Market is accepted as a role model and is applied to other sectors.

Burkay stated that they aim to raise the 8,4 billion dollar of exports in 2013, to over 9 billion dollars in 2014, “As is well known we closed 2012 with 7,9 billion dollar and 2013 with 8,4 billion dollar of exports. This year during the months of January-March 2 billion 256 million dollars of export was made. The increase in exports was 9.2 per cent. We see that at the end of this year we are moving towards to a figure which will break the all-time record with over 9 billion dollars. In the world's first 100 universities, there are 50 universities from United States. Even though there is 17 companies from Unites States in the top 50 innovative companies in the world, there is still strategic plans going on in innovation race to catch up.”

Burkay expresses, the activities carried out in countries like Russia, Italy, USA, China, Germany, Belgium and Brazil which each one are very important markets for textile sector in Turkey, has a profound impact,  also said that in the reports of international consulting and financial institutions, it is seen clearly the Turkish economy in 2050 will be Europe's second largest economy.

Considering the textile and apparel sector, Bursa Governor Münir Karaoğlu emphasized it has the importance of contribution to the gross national product, "Textile is really one of the leading sectors in Turkey. To increase its market share more innovation and R & D should be done. When we look at the share of textile sector, it is possible to raise the 8 percent rate to 15 percent rate" said.

Awards were given to the most innovative companies in textile and apparel industry.
