Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, which brought together the global market’s significant fabric and accessory companies, was held from 22 to 25 October 2012 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. In the event the host China had the largest number of participants; and Turkish manufacturers besides Italy, Germany, France and Taiwan became the focus of attention. As Textil Dünyası Magazine, we were there. The exhibition was full of stands of Turkish manufacturers and visitors. Leading manufacturers participated in the event which hosting more than 60000 visitors. At the end of the successful edition, the companies were very satisfied.
The leading manufacturers of the global market attended the event with big pavilions. In the event, cotton, wool, silk, linen, knitted, coated fabrics, underwear and swimwear fabrics, functional fabrics, printed fabrics, fibers and yarns, embroidery, lace and accessories collections and the latest technological products were exhibited. Color themes, the most important topic of interest, was selected in four groups: Masquerade, Illusion, Bedrock and Revolution.
The companies focusing on the production of environmentally friendly products participated in the event with their products in this field. Leading manufacturers such as Lenzing, Invista, the Korea Chemical Fibers Association introduced natural and synthetic fibers and yarns. The most important event organized in Asia Region in the segment, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Exhibition is supported by Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Fair, the China Cotton Textile Association, China Spinning Weaving Association, China Wool Textile Association, China Textile Fibres Association, China Silk Association, China Chemical Fiber Association, China Dyeing and Printing Association, China Knitting Industry Association, China Home Textile Association, China National Garment Association, China Fashion Designers Association, China Fashion & Color Association, China Textile Filament Association, China Textile and Apparel Federation of Entrepreneurs.
Turkish Manufacturers Received Praise
Acar Tekstil, Almodo Altunlar Tekstil, Anteks Antalya Tekstil, Bezsan Tekstil, Bossa, Genç Mert Tekstil, HMK Tekstil, Karsu Tekstil, Kaynak Tekstil, Kivanç Tekstil, Kuşak Tekstil Pazarlama, Özlem Kumaş, Söktaş Dokuma İşletmeleri, Teknik Mensucat, Ünaş Tekstil and Yünsa are among the Turkish companies attending the exhibition, while Uludağ Exporters' Association was the leading the group ensuring participation at the level of the national team as at almost every exhibition. In terms of the overall organization, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan are among the most featured countries after China. At the event marked by the products exhibited at the pavilions with broad participation, groups of participants from 12 countries and regions introduced their products with special presentations and shows. At the Japanese Pavilion there were more than 40 participants, and products that require advanced technological fabrics and workmanship were exhibited. At the Japanese exhibition where examples in the field of coated fabrics were presented, manufacturers had the opportunity to meet new customers and communicate with the existing customers.
At the South Korean Pavilion 110 participants showcased their products. At the exhibition marked by synthetic fabrics, the latest fiber products and applications were presented to visitors. Hyosung Corporation, Kolon Fashion Material Inc. and Woongjin Chemical, four leading companies in this field, established close contact with their customers. Attending the organization with the largest number of participants after China, Taiwan, on the other hand, became one of the favorites of the exhibition with 136 exhibitors. At the Taiwan pavilion, companies exhibited their products to expand market share in the international arena, the participants continued to work to improve the image of the company. From the countries in other areas outside the pavilions such as India, Indonesia, Pakistan had important participations.
At European Pavilion, products were presented in an area of approximately 10,000 square meters. Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom were among the countries exhibiting high-quality apparel fabrics and accessories products. Milano Unica, expressing that it focused on the Chinese market at every opportunity, was one of the most important participants of the exhibition. Italians grabbed the opportunity present their high-quality products and the production of latest technology to Chinese manufacturers and the global market. In addition, with the activities coinciding with the organization, the heart of the textile industry continued to beat in China. This year, on the same dates Cinte Techtextil China, Yarn Expo China, China International Knitting Trade aimed to capture the manufacturers.
An Important Agreement with Milano Unica
Milano Unica managers and Intertextile Shanghai organizers announced a three-year partnership agreement. 30 per cent increase in the number of Italian manufacturers participating in the organization pleased both sides. Within the scope of the fair, the agreement announced on October 23 is expected to reap the benefit in the 2013 Beijing edition and in the 2015 Shanghai edition.
At Intertextile Beijing 2012 exhibition, having performed a successful presentation at Milano Unica pavilion, Italian manufacturers were happy at the end of the exhibition. The edition, in which the leading textile and accessory companies participated, featured 95 Italian exhibitors. At the Shanghai exhibition, there were 124 exhibitors, a 30% increase from the first edition. Italian manufacturers have been the most important participants in Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics exhibition for a long time; and the continuation of this long-term relationship is indicated with the agreement. Offering their 2013-2014 autumn and winter season, women's and men's clothing, Italian companies occupied W1 Europe hall with 124 participants. In the hall, fabrics for suit- and shirt-making, as well as precious silk and fine prints were showcased.
