Turkish Manufacturers Left Intertextile Beijing in Hope

Intertextile Beijng Apparel and Fabric Fair was organised in China International Congress Centre on 27-29 March 2013. The fair to which Chinese manufacturers paid the greatest attention, witnessed an outstanding participation from Italian firms. Taking part in the event with more than 120 firms, Italy participated in the event with Milano Unica pavilion. In parallel to the agreement signed between Milano Unica and Intertextile Apparel Fabrics last year, the number of Italian participants increased, which is a pleasing development for executives of the fair. As Textile World Magazine Group, we followed the event on site and Turkey was represented with 9 firms in the event. At the Turkish pavilion created by Uludağ Exporters’ Association, high quality cotton and woollen fabrics were displayed and close ties were established with clients.

In the fair where manufacturers desiring to take part in the Developing Far Eastern market, accessories, casual wear, child and baby wear, swimsuits, fabrics for shirts, suits, functional and sportswear, men’s and women’s wear, jeans wear were among the outstanding topics. Turkish Manufacturers Met the Expectations
Editors of Textile World Magazine Group made special interviews with Turkish firms and got information about the expectations of manufacturers from the market and their works. Turkish manufacturers who want to take place in the large-sized markets of China expressed their pleasure from the attention they see in the fair. Sales Manager of Bossa, Sefi Ölmez stated that this event was the second event that they took part following Intertextile fair hold in Shanghai last year. Expressing that they aim to record an export volume of about 500-550 thousand meters to China, Ölmez emphasized that it is really difficult to sell product to these continuously changing markets. Stressing that they examine the demand of Chinese people to luxurious products, Ölmez stated that they want to increase their market power with A quality products.

Strong representative of denim, İSKO was also among the most outstanding firms of the fair. In our interview with İSKO Fabric Expert Ertuğ Erkuş, he stated that many international ready wear firms took their places in Chinese market. Explaining that they are in the Asian market in order to support the production of big companies in this region, he reported that they felt pleasant for the attention they received in the event.

1300 firms from 16 countries participated

In the fair where significant fabric trends were presented, it was reported that more than 26,000 purchasers were registered. Considering the distribution of participants by countries, it is seen that Chinese buyers ranked first with 35 %. Following China, the largest participations were provided from Korea, Japan, England, Italy, Russia, Pakistan and Turkey. In the event where 1300 participants from 16 countries took part, the growth of 22 % in comparison to year 2011 is striking. While Chinese firms stood out with 1016 participants, they were followed by Italy with 128 firms. Other participants of the fair included Korea, Hongkong, Taiwan, Germany and Turkey.

Fabric trends are presented in 4 different themes

It is expressed that the fair which received a great deal of attention in parallel to the increase in fabric and accessory industries of China contributed significantly to global fabric and apparel industries. There were all kinds of fabric in the product groups introduced by the firms. Besides, in Intertextile Beijing fair, a special platform where 2014 Spring-Summer Fabric Collections were exhibited was created. Colors which were presented under four different themes including ‘Serene Spirit”, “Blue Mood”, “Sweet Rebel”, “Expressive Soul” gave tips for 2014. While the theme of Blue Mood is defined as a category where cotton, ketene, durable fabrics and water-proof, light and functional fabrics are included, the focus points of the theme are local products and protective clothes. The theme of “Sweet Rebel” tells complexity in terms of appearance. Detailed lace embroideries, retouches, fantasy elements like ribbon and pastel colors stand out. The last theme of the fair is “Expressive Soul”. The focus point of this theme is multicultural perspective. In the theme based on futuristic and functional fabrics, shantung yarn, embroidery, ethnical details are used for an intense look.
