One the of leading activities attracting a great deal of attention both from Turkey and all around the world, Heimtextil Fair was held during January 9-12, 2018 in Frankfurt. A large number of participants from Turkey took their place in the fair where products such as decoration items, yarn and curtains and particularly home textiles are exhibited
Suggesting Heimtextil Fair is a very prominent platform for companies to increase their success and dominance in the world of home textiles market, İbrahim Burkay, Board Chairman of Association of Uludağ Textile Exporters (UTIB), shares his thoughts about their 2018 targets of UTIB and 98 companies participating the fair.
"As Association Of Uludağ Textile Exporters', we are carrying out studies to increase the awareness of our companies by leading their brandisation processes as well as increasing their shares in the existing markets and developing exports with target companies. We hence attach a great importance to this organisation where thousands of professionals visit", says Burkay and adds, " During Heimtextil Fair, the first textile fair of the year 2018, our companies had the opportunity to explore new designs and see the position of their competitors in the sector. Being the largest event in the world in its segment, 257 companies from Turkey attended the event this year. I take this number very seriously. That 98 companies from Bursa participated in the event reveals our city's design and production quality in the sector."
‘Turkish Home Textile' From UTIB
Stating they have taken their place in the fair with the promotion stand prepared with 'Turkish Home Textile' concept for the 9th time this year as Association Of Uludağ Textile Exporters', İbrahim Burkay also explains they accompanied a group of 100 persons to the fair through a special organisation under the Global Fair Agency Project of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) and therefore they had the chance to closely analyse the development and make new business contacts.
Bursa is the second biggest exporter city of Turkey thanks to its favourable investment environment in Turkey with the experience and production infrastructure, Burkay refers to the exports figures reached in 2017 and says, "During the past year, our city recorded an increase of 5 percent in the sector and exported 1 billion dollars. Our products, which we offer to different geographies of the world, especially Germany, Romania and England, are preferred by foreign buyers thank to their great design and quality. In the last 10 years, we recorded an increase up to 3% and 37% in 8 of the 10 countries where we export the most."
"R&D and Innovation Have A Great Contribution In Our Success"
"Textile and Technical Textile Excellence Center we have established under Bursa Technology Coordination and R&D Center (BUTEKOM) in cooperation with BTSO and UTİB has led the growth of our industry with a focus on design and innovation. We aim to increase the value-added production of our sector in the light of all these studies and achieve an export of 1.6 billion dollars in 2018", concludes Buraky, suggesting R&D, innovation and design-oriented studies as well as international fair organisations have a great impact on this achievement.
