Turkey's Innovative Products Were Discussed at Innovation Week
The "Turkey Innovation Week" organized by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) between 28-30 Novembers in Istanbul Congress Center, carried the importance of the innovation and R&D projects to the Turkish economy and exports once again. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as bureaucrats, international professionals that make a difference in the world and in Turkey, industrialists, academics and university students attended to the event which was organized together with Turkish Exporters Assembly which is celebrating its 20th anniversary and Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economy. Throughout the three-day event, Turkey's innovative products were discussed.
Minister of Economy Zafer Çağlayan, in his opening speech that was addressed to younger people, he stated that when he was young, the elders scolded at them when they produced a new idea saying "I'm calling out to our young people, for God's sake please invent. Bring new traditions to the old villages.” Çağlayan, reminding Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's saying "Young ladies, young gentlemen, you're our country's shining stars", noted young people thinking in the wake of Atatürk, with dreaming, bravely will bring the current level to a higher level.
TIM President Mehmet Büyükekşi who spoke at the organization which hosted domestic and abroad speakers with inspirational ideas; With the Turkey Innovation Week, by supporting innovation-based activities of public, private sector and civil society organizations, stated that they are giving morale, motivation and self-confidence to Turkey, underlined that they believe in Turkey's power and the youth of this country. Büyükekşi, "As Turkish Exporters Assembly the representative of 57 thousand exporter's, with the aim to reach 500 billion dollars export in 2023, we think innovation culture, climate and the eco system will be accessed by placing more to Turkey. With Turkey Innovation Week that we organized with great faith, we're doing a more comprehensive presentation of the new technology and production processes. We believe in Turkey's innovation potential, we believe in the youth of this country" said.
First held in 2011, from the categories science, technology, marketing, design, city and business with more than 500 leading design and R & D projects and more than 50 R & D Center were exhibited in Turkey Innovation Week. Also in 2013, organized by associations of exporters, selected 273 projects and 243 designs from 8 different R&D Project Market were presented to the participants. During the events, it was announced that a team of 20 people selected from social media followers, university students and members of the media, would be taken to CERN, the heart of innovation in Europe, also the organization aims to train future innovative leaders by emphasizing entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship.
