Organised for the 2nd time this year with the support of Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, Trikonfex exhibition started off aiming to gather the Turkish tricot sector, yet could meet expectations

Trikonfex Could Not Go Beyond the ‘Local Border’

Held by AKORT Exhibition company in cooperation with Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce in Middle East Exhibition Center, and supported by Gaziantep Chamber of Flat Kitting, Trikonfex 2nd Tricot, Tricot Yarns, Apparel and Technologies Exhibition failed to satisfy the expectations. In Trikonfex Exhibition, there were particularly the firms in Gaziantep, and firms that are from Istanbul, Konya, Kahramanmaraş, Kayseri, Adana, Hatay and that represent foreign countries, yet it remained as a local exhibition both due to the visitors’ profile and the low volume of establishing business. The organization in which Minister of Family and Social Policies, Parliamentarians of Gaziantep, Governor of Gaziantep and protocol members participated as visitors was held for the second time for the purpose of leading fashion. The exhibition covered a wide range of products and technologies from tricot products to apparel products, from yarns to laser-cutting and digital printing machinery, from tricot yarn machinery to weaving machinery, tricot knitting systems to flat knitting computer systems and programs, from apparel dyes and auxiliary chemicals to occupational publications.

Technology producing Turkish and world brand companies participated actively in the exhibition. Trikonfex Exhibition held with the main sponsorship of Sanko Holding and under the auspices of Governorship of Gaziantep could not make the global breakthrough expected, this year either. The participating companies stated that enough advertisement was not made and emphasized that desired level of efficiency could not be achieved. Although the exhibition is at the hearth of Turkish textile production in terms of the region of organization and the participating companies were composed of the leaders of sector, high number of visitors could not be reached. Evaluating the situation, experts stated that the civil war in Syria affects the Turkish textile market negatively that the firms planning investments cancelled all of them. Explaining that it is not a right decision to organize an exhibition in such an uneasy period for market, authorities reported that they did not receive positive signs for the future.
