Global fashion industry came together at the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2017, the leading fair of the sector, with their new collections and innovations. 4538 participants from 32 country and regions exhibited their products in the fair area, which has been expanded by 6 % when compared to the one of 2016.
Intense Participation of the Turkish Firms
The number of the Turkish firms participating in Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2017, which was followed by Textile World Magazine Group editors on site, was striking as well. Turkish firms, participating Intertextile Shanghai fair and carried out important meetings, were satisfied with the interest they got. Elif Sertkaya, General Director and the member of the Board of Deridesen Etiket, who shared her evaluation about the fair with our publication group uttered the satisfaction for their booth at Intertextile Shangai Apparel Fabrics Fair which they participated for the first time this year. Mrs. Sertkaya said “However we attended for the first time, feedbacks are quite positive. We can say it is a successful fair for us.”
Mustafa Oktay, Chairman of the Board of Form Button, who stated that thy have started to be known at Chinese market and they obtained positive results from the fair, shared his evaluations with the following words “Chinese market is a place where we focused on and invested for long years. As well as we realized new collection presentation for our current customers at the fair, we had the chance of meeting new firms on the other hand. Besides, we made business contact with different customers coming from nearby geography. Chine is so hard market but we believe that success is possible with correct marketing strategy. In this sense, fair was so successful and productive for us.”
Among the Turkish firms which exhibited their products at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Fair, there was also Kipaş Tekstil. Esra Kula, Customer Representative of Kipas Tekstil, who said “Intertextile Fair which gathers exhibitors coming from different countries under one roof enable us to reach customers and introduce our collection” share her evaluations as follow “Agencies, designers and buyers show high demand for this fair whose visitor number has increased each year.”
While growth was observed in the other regions along with domestic market, Functional Lab, one of the special parts of the fair, expanded its area by 33 % and Premium Wool Zone by 18 %. Also, an accessories hall was added this year in order to meet the demand. More than 77 thousand buyers from about 100 country and regions bought products for the next season at Intertextile where a wide range of cloth fabrics and accessories were exhibited.
Wide Product Range Meets Buyers
Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, highlighted the contributions of the fair to the apparel sector as such: “Intertextile Shanghai is not only the biggest event of the sector but also the leading supply and trade platform of the industry. While participants come to the fair by being aware of the fact that they could meet qualified buyers from all over the world to conduct businesses, the buyers know that they could deal with many suppliers offering wide ranges of products in the fair. This combination constitutes the starting point of a successful and business-oriented trade event, and I am happy to state that this edition has created a significant effect in this respect.”
Pointing out to the number of participants of the fair, Wendy Wen “While walking through the halls this year, the increasing number of innovative products and solutions encouraged me. Another striking trend is there were many companies offering environment-friendly products and technologies apart from the special part “All about Sustainability Zone” themed on sustainability. Themes of innovation and sustainability will continue being at the focus on our next year’s spring and fall editions.” The announced date of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Spring Edition is 14-16 March.
