Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics and Accesories Fair which is organized by Messe Frankfurt, is taking place in Shanghai New International Expo Center. The event which brings manufacturers and suppliers together, is being followed by editors of Tekstil Dünyası Edition Group onsite. At the last year edition of this event, 3.700 domestic and international exhibitors and 3.500 visitors where hosted in an area covering over 170.000 square meters. The host China is the biggest partcipant. After China; Italy, Germany, Portugal and Turkey are participant countries as pavilions. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom stands out as individual participants.
Milano Unica and SalonEurope pavilions which were popular in the past few years, is taking place again and bringing together the visitors and Europe's leading suppliers of fabrics and accessories.
Fair stands out this year with the themes of sustainability and innovation. The seminars, fashion shows and presentations about the subjects has increased compared to the previous year. The event is held in 15 halls. European and Turkish participants are at W1 and W4 halls while simultaneously staged Yarn Expo exhibitors are at hall N4. This year China International Fabrics Design Competition is in a partnership with Intertextile Shanghai. The event, which is the only international competition of China's textile industry, is held during the exhibition.
Increasing Demand to western brands
Increasing purchasing power of Chinese consumers seems to increase the demand for high quality products. The event showcases a number of important products of the company. This is attributed to an increase in local demand western brands. In addition The Premium Wool Zone which includes creative and inspiring ideas for the original textile designi stands out as well. "All about Sustainability" zone focuses on recycled fabrics and products and is appearing for the first time at Intertextile Shanghai. In this field fabric, product and technology manufacturers as well as sustainable production tools are also included.
In the local market, sports, women's and men's clothing seems to be popular in the demand for functional fabrics.
This year at the event, functional fabrics and products that reflect the current textile industry stands out.
Messe Frankfurt: Global fair organizer
Messe Frankfurt is one of the world's largest trade fair companies with 537,000,000 Euros in sales and over 1,800 active employees. The group has a global network of 28 subsidiaries, five branch offices, and 52 international sales partners. Thus, Messe Frankfurt is present in over 150 countries to their customers. At more than 30 locations in the world events "made by Messe Frankfurt" take place. In 2012, Messe Frankfurt organised a total of 109 trade fairs, of which more than half took place outside Germany.
