Ahmet Öksüz, Chairman of the Board of Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (İTHİB), while drawing attention to the huge importance of the fair, which held after the earthquake disasters which affected 11 cities, said, “As the textile industry, we aim to heal our wounds with the Texhibition Istanbul Fair. As in every circumstances, as the Turkish textile industry, we will continue to stand by our nation today again, and continue to produce, to create added value, and to remain as the guarantor of Turkey.’’
Global buyers and industry representatives have come together at Texhibition Istanbul Fabric, Yarn and Textile Accessories Fair. Ahmet Öksüz, Chairman of the Board of the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (İTHİB), while emphasizing on the fair which carried out a distinct importance this year which held at the Istanbul Expo Center, said, ''Getting out of our beds in a great catastrophy was true for us on the morning of February 6. Due to the several earthquakes which affected 11 of our cities, thousands of our citizens have experienced unspeakable suffering. We suffered huge losses. The entire nation united as a whole to reduce our pain and to recover the affected citizens. Everyone contributed to this from 7 to 70 with their full support. To pass on this calamity for the region, it is essential to the continuity of aid and support and to restart production chain. So, we should focus more on production and should place more emphasis on exports than ever with a much greater motivation for the recovery. In this context, we will make use of our fairs, delegations and international marketing activities much more effectively. As the textile industry, we aim to heal our wounds with Texhibition Istanbul Fair. As in every circumstances, as the Turkish textile industry, we will continue to stand by our nation today again, and continue to produce, to create added value, and to remain as the guarantor of Turkey.’’
The Fair Area Expanded
Texhibition Istanbul Fabric, Yarn and Textile Accessories Fair, which was seen a participation from several disciplines such as woven fabric, knitted fabric, denim fabric, textile accessories and yarn product groups in the past period and while rising to the top level as a textile fair in Turkey although still in its third period, was brought under an analysis by Ahmet Öksüz who reminded about the participation of leading companies in Turkish textile sector with their figures reaching 313 and said, “We hosted approximately 21 thousand visitors at our previous fair. At our fair in this period, we are also aiming to bring together thousands of qualified buyers from European Union countries, England, USA, North African countries and the Middle East with our companies. We increased our holes from 2 to 3 for organizing our fair this year. Our most important sensitivity regarding our fair is to always bring the effectiveness of our fair to the next level by growing at a controlled pace.”
