The event, which brings together yarn and sock manufacturers with major brands and connects the value chain every year, started with the opening speech of Turkey Sales Manager Aslan Kabapelit, followed by a brief information about the company, the brand and the sector objectives by Alistair Williamson, the company’s EMEA Innerwear Commercial Director after which Sybille Bald, Global Hosiery Segment Director, made a presentation on SUSTAINABILITY.
It was highlighted in the event that the company has been taking the necessary steps to fulfill its responsibilities towards our planet with its Planet Agenda platform and its 3 pillars: Product Sustainability, Manufacturing Excellence and Corporate Responsibility. It has also been noted that these efforts are supported by its leading products LYCRA® EcoMade, THERMOLITE® EcoMade and COOLMAX® EcoMade.
The Seminar also featured a 2020+ trends and innovations presentation by EMEA Marketing Manager Jane Gwyther.
Technical Market Development Representative Elke Lamberts-Steffes informed the guests about the technical details of the company’s products that are used in sock production.
There were 4 trends presented in this year’s event:
- CREATIVE COMMUNITY: A trend that allows for coincidence and celebrates the unpredictable.
- BACK TO BLACK: In this trend, black acts as a canvas for bright colors, patterns and a stylish glow.
- OPULENCE PERSONIFIED: Glamourous movie star aesthetics with inspirations from the 1920s.
- ICONIC LIVING: Redefines authenticity in a copy/paste culture and prioritizes quality over quantity.
Another important topic of the seminar was covered by Turkey Sales Manager Aslan Kabapelit who stated that they have started a process of TRADEMARK PROTECTION in which awareness raising initiatives have been launched. Within the scope of the slogan ZERO TOLERANCE, Kabapelit explained “As The LYCRA Company, one of our biggest duties is to deliver what we promise to our clients. Therefore, we need to make sure right materials are used in final products with the right amounts and we will keep addressing this issue”. Kabapelit also focused on the right use of materials which create a difference in the quality.
