Heimtextil, home textile fair, held in Frankfurt, Germany, on 12-15 January 2016 gathered hundreds of firms from the sector. Turkish home textile firms as well showed a great deal of interest in Heimtextil 2016 where textile, fabric and home textile products were displayed. Witnessing the show of strength of the Turkish firms, the fair also paved the way for new business connections. About 211 firms participated in the fair from Turkey together with the member firms of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) and Denizli Exporters’ Association (DENIB).
Burkay: “Fairs Contribute Greatly to Our Development Targets”
İbrahim Burkay, Chairman of Governing Board of BTSO, drew attention to the increasing interest of Turkish firms to the fair and added, “211 Turkish firms took part in Heimtextil and 73 firms from Bursa which is accepted as the centre of the home textile sector opened stands. 150 Turkish firms and 57 firms from Bursa had taken part in the fair held in 2015. Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association (UTIB) which shapes the textile export of the city also attracted a great deal of attention with its stand.”
Stating that they aim at increasing the overseas experiences of firms operating in Bursa in line with the export-based development targets of Turkey as well as enabling them to develop and exporter identity, Chairman Burkay continued as such: “We made 32 fair organisations in 2015 and took 1.500 members to these fairs. For our organisations, we organised 5 flights from Yenişehir Airport throughout 2015. We determined 60 fair organisations that will bring new horizons to our firms and open the gates of new cooperation opportunities this year. I believe that our fair organisations will contribute greatly to the export potential of our firms and our city which are leader in the home textile sector in Europe. I would like to extend my gratitude to all firms supporting and participating in our projects.”
Busy Schedule of Bursa Delegation
Stating that they departed to Frankfurt with a private plane with an approximately 100-person delegation from Yenişehir Airport, Hasan Çepni, Assembly Member of BTSO and Head of Delegation, added, “Our firms had the opportunity of seeing the innovations in the sector closely at Heimtextil which is accepted as the biggest fair of the world in its field. We searched ways for cooperation with businessmen coming from different regions of the world. During the fair, we got the chance of visiting Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Frankfurt Office of the Commercial Counsellor, Darmstadt Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Frankfurt Office of MUSIAD. I would like to extend my thanks to the Members of our Governing Board and Chairman Mr. İbrahim Burkay, in particular, for all services they are offering to the business world of Bursa.”
Kocasert; “Denizli is the Locomotive of Turkey”
60 members of DENIB from Denizli opened stands at Heimtextil. Stating that home textile firms from Denizli have taken part in Heimtextil for years, Süleyman Kocasert, Chairman of Governing Board of DENIB and Deputy President of TİM, said the following about the fair: “We can see clearly how the firms of Denizli developed themselves in the course of time. Quality, design and pattern diversity of our products are at very high levels. We can easily states that Denizli is not following but being followed now. All of our firms managed to draw attention to their new collections and innovative designs. Now our stands are followed carefully by foreign participants. For the first time this year, we opened a stand as DENIB within the scope of DENIB Turkish Towels Project supported by the Southern Aegean Development Agency, promoted the project and enabled our members taking part in the fair as visitor to make meetings with clients.”
Stating that it was a successful organisation for Denizli and Turkey, Kocasert added that, “In the fair, firms had talks with new clients as well as existing ones. Ensuing months are very important. I hope that the firms participating in the fair can transform these talks into commercial relations and gain fruitful yields.”
DENİB Places a Special Importance on Fairs
Expressing that finding the opportunity of having face to face talks with the existing clients in addition to establishing new commercial relations in the fairs, members of DENIB stated that they believe that their participation will continue with increases.
