Textile and Ready- Made Clothing Summit, carried out for the first time this year, was held under the sponsorship of Çalık Denim with the hosting of Boğaziçi University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In the summit, place and position of textile and ready- made clothings industry within Turkish economy was discussed by the leading names of the sector. In the summit, the leading names of the sector such as Ahmet Çalık; the Chairman of the Board of Çalık Holding, Hamit Yenici; Director General of Çalık Denim, Mustafa Küçük; CEO of LC Waikiki, İlker Baydar; CEO of Markafoni, Hikmet Tanrıverdi; the President of Istanbul Textile and Apparels Exporters’ Association came together. After the opening speech of the event, under the moderatorship of Ass. Prof. Dr. Ali Coşkun, “Keystone of Export: THG” pannel was realized in which Ahmet Çalık; the Chairman of the Board of Çalık Holding, Mustafa Küçük; CEO of LC Waikiki and Şeref Fayat; the President of Turkish Clothing Industrialists’ Association (TGSD) were the panelists. In the panel, Ahmet Çalık, by mentioning the role of Textile and Ready- Made Clothing sector within Turkey, also touched on what to do to develop the sector. Hamit Yenici, Director General of Çalık Denim carried out a speech themed “iCloth” which told the importance of technology and innovation at textile and ready- made clothings. Mr. Yenici gave information on the contribution of technology and innovation for export and sustainable innovation by being integrated correct to the textile sector.
