
TGSD President Ramazan Kaya said that approximately 1500 meetings were held in the event attended by more than 50 purchasing groups and 110 manufacturing companies and said, "Which is also the main theme of our conference this year, 'Transformative Journey' is a process which is not one-sided and can be delivered with strategic partnerships. At this meeting, our Turkish companies also laid solid foundations for new collaborations by explaining their work in the field of green transformation and sustainability to the purchasing groups."
The 16th Istanbul Ready-to-Wear Conference, the largest meeting of the ready-made clothing industry, left behind. On the first day of the two-day conference organized by the Turkish Clothing Manufacturers Association (TGSD), the hot issues on the industry's agenda were discussed with the participation of industry representatives and professionals both from home and abroad, while the second day was devoted to 'B2B Bilateral Business Meetings'. In B2B meetings, more than 50 purchasing groups came together with 110 domestic manufacturers from all over Turkey.
Ramazan Kaya: “We are Laying the Foundation of Long-Lasting Collaborations”
While stating that approximately 1500 meetings took place within the scope of bilateral business negotiations, TGSD President Ramazan Kaya said, “Within the reach of Istanbul Ready-to-Wear Conference, which our industry eagerly awaits every year, this year we not only talked about the present and future of ready-made clothing as well, but also laid the foundations of collaborations which are long-lasting. This year, the meetings attended by major e-commerce sites operating in Turkey as well as purchasing groups were extremely productive. Our local producers informed the representatives of the purchasing groups about their work especially in the field of sustainability and green transformation."
“The Whole Ecosystem Should Accommodate Transformation”
While pointing out that the transformation process in the sector cannot be one-sided, Kaya continued as follows; “The theme of our conference this year was 'Transformative Journey'. We talked about and discussed that transformation is inevitable in this process where business models and consumer expectations are changing rapidly. However, it is also a fact that for the transformation to be successful, not only the producers but also the entire ecosystem and value chain must adapt to this transformation. In this context, strategic partnerships between our producers and purchasing groups are of great importance. As TGSD, we brought together all the players of the sector and provided base groundwork for these collaborations.”
