Home & Tex 2013 Home Textiles and Decoration Fair, which was organized in cooperation with Turkey Home Textile Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TETSİAD), was held on 14-17 November in Istanbul Expo Center. Minister Egemen Bağış, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan RavilZaripov, Chairman of Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) Mehmet Büyükekşi, Chairwoman of Board of CNR Holding, Chairman of TETSİAD Yaşar Küçükçalık and Chairman of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) İbrahim Burkay participated to the opening ceremony of the fair.Home & Tex Fair, which is so important in terms of being the first fair organized in the fields of decoration, home textiles and complementary products, was held in an area of 60 thousand square meters in CNR EXPO Istanbul. It is expected that the fair, which was organized with the participation of 300 firms, will create a business volume of $ 2 billion to the sector.
We Need to Introduce Our Products All Over the World
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Home & Tex Fair, Egemen Bağış said that the fair, which was organized for the first time in the fields of home textiles and decoration, will be useful for the sector's exports. Stating that they hosted a lot of guests from Russia, the Middle East and North African countries, Egemen Bağış said that: ''Two fairs are organized in home textile sector twice a year. This is a very pleasing development for the sector. The fair is so important in terms of changing the all houses in Turkey. Pointing out to the fact that Turkey has the world's 16th large economy, Egemen Bağış stated that: ''Such targets as becoming the 10th major economy and achieving the export target of $ 500 billion are only possible with branding. We need to introduce our products all over the world.’’.
The Size of the Sector
Providing information about home textiles and decorative products, Chairman of TETSIAD Yaşar Küçükçalık said that the sector has a size of 10 billion dollars in domestic market. Emphasizing that Home & Tex Fair will provide a business volume of 2 billion dollars within the context of business negociatitions, Küçükçalık expressed that: ''We expect that 20% of the fields in this sector will be created thanks to Home&Tex Fair. The fair will create a positive force in terms of firms which operate external trade. We beleive that the wholesalers, retailers and decorators coming from especially Middle East and Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States and North Africa will positively negotiate with our participating companies.’’.
“Am I a Real Decorator”
''My Livin Space Style Home & Tex'' award-winning photo contest was organized within the scope of CNR Home & Tex. The competition, which was organized under the slogan ''Am I a Real Decorator ?'', was admired by the visitors. Mother of two children, Nilay Karamanoğlu Gündüz won the competition, which was conducted via Instagram and Facebook for the fair which was held in CNR EXPO. Gündüz, who competed in order to be winner, participated to the competition with the photo that she hung on the wall of the living room in her house. CEO of CNR Holding, Cem Senel said that they received 1800 photos in a short time during the organization. Senel: "We will increase our social media activities. We will continue to support those who are interested in photo and decoration.''. Stating that the competition was admired, Ali Sami Aydın, Vice President of TETSİAD, presented a camera as a gift to the winner Nilay Karamanoğlu Gündüz. The most decorative product was chosen by the jury members, actor and photographer Hakan Ka, General Manager of Linens Fatih Dereköylü, designer Derin Sarıyer, Branch President of Istanbul Chamber of Interior Architects Yusuf Taner Gültekin and Member of the Board of TETSIAD Can Tanrıverdi.
