While Turkish exports increased by 30 per cent in September in comparison to the same month of the previous year, Kahramanmaraş exports on the other hand increased more by 72 percent in September compared to the same month of the year prior and exceeded 135 million dollars. Besides, Kahramanmaraş exports reached 989 million dollars as of January-September 2021 with an increase of 59 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
‘’Our Investments are On the Rise’’
Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Şahin Balcıoğlu said, "We experienced a huge growth far above the country standards. As members of the Kahramanmaraş business sphere, we improved our position in existing markets thanks to our quality and product/service delivery in favor of us and now we are breaking new records in exports by meeting new prospectus markets. We evaluate passing year as the breakthrough in exports in spite of challenging pandemic. We are working relentlessly with all of our capability to achieve this. For instance, we achieve exports to 130 countries with the support of our four hundred exporting firms. When we look closer to lodged investments, we can see that a significant increase is true compared to the year past. As evidence, lodged investments in 2020 and in 2021 exceeded 14 billion liras and these will go into production phase to accelerate production, employment and social advancement. As Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we are continuing our works to developing organized industrial zones, opening new areas in tourism, increasing transportation opportunities especially in airlines in our city. Kahramanmaraş is in need of all.’’
Stating that the increase in exports is indispensable for the city economy, President Balcıoğlu said, "The increase in exports made possible with industrialization in our city is paramount for the city's economy. It is evident that Kahramanmaraş follow a growth stage in production and in exports.
