ITM Texpo Eurasia Fair that will be held on April 21-24 in İstanbul, which is regarded as the heart of Eurasia, Asia and Middle East-North Africa, aims to become a textile organisation on the global level. Sedar Yalçın, the organizer of the fair and CEO of TÜYAP, answered our questions.
Emphasizing the ups and downs in the global textile machinery market, Yalçın stated that they are the reflections on the fair industry. Yalçın remarked that in 2008 they restructured the textile fairs organized for the Eurasia region from a different perspective. “The Textile Machinery Fairs, which are going to be held every year - under the brand Texpo Eurasia - in order to be able to meet the needs of the dynamic markets and to ensure their continuity, has been presented with a new vision,” said Yalçın. He also stated that by taking the European and Asian textile machinery fair calendar into account, they will organize a more large-scale ITM Texpo Eurasia fair in every 3 years. Yalçın said that the fair will be organized by the cooperation of Tüyap Tüm Fuarcılık and Teknik Fuarcılık and with the support of Textile machinery and Accessory Manufacturers’ Association (TEMSAD) on April 21-22, 2012 at Tüyap Fair Convention and .congress Center, Büyükçekmece
Underlining that ITM TEXPO Eurasia will be an unrivalled fair in Eurasia and will take place near the top in the global market, Serdar Yalçın said that as a fair serving in the textile machinery industry it is increasing its importance with every edition. Yalçın continued his words by saying; “Texpo Eurasia, organized in May 2011, was flooded by the textile investors and those who are on the way to becoming textile investors and by the visitors coming from the countries which have postponed the investment dcisions for a long period of time. The positive image that the fair created after a period of 28 years and the fact that it has proved itself as the right fair, are the elements that can not be ignored in our increasing success in the visitor studies. In light of our studies, we are expecting to achieve the same attention from the participants and visitors in ITM Texpo Eurasia.”
Turkey is at the Heart of Eurasia
Stating that Eurasia is a textile manufacturing center and a very important region with its 55 countries and large population, Yalçın said that Turkey is located at the middle of this region. “Turkey, which has acquired an adventageous position as a result of the changing and rising balances due to its regional location, is the shining star of the region thanks to its ability to act quickly in production capacity and its trade potential,” said Yalçın. He added that they take advantage of this regional location in promotional and marketing activities carried out for the fair. “In the period, when new investments are made and machinery parks are renewed, ITM TEXPO EURASIA 2012 takes the road with the aim of guiding the new investments in the sector by bringing the buyers and suppliers together at the center of Eurasia,” said Yalçın.
Serdar Yalçın stated that despite the negative developments on the global level, there is a dynamism in the textile sector of Eurasia region, the center of which Turkey is located in. Yalçın argued that Turkey has acquired an advantageous position as a result of the incremental costs and the internal dynamics of the Chinese market. “Turkey’s quality and fast production is an important factor for the neighboring and European markets. The political developments in the markets, towards which textile is expected to move, showed that these markets are not as secure as they are thought to be. All these factors created an opportunity to revive the investments postponed by the textile industry. When it comes to the issue of organizing fairs, the stabil market environment in Turkey will serve to attract the quality visitors and will ensure the success of ITM TEXPO EURASIA 2012,” said Yalçın.
Yalın stated that with the synergy it takes from the fairs, which are leaders in their own field in the textile sector, sales and marketing network, rich databank, new halls and its closed exhibition area of about 98,000 sqm, TÜYAP has become world’s one of the most important exhibition centers that meet the needs of different sectors. Yalçın stated that the strong position of TÜYAP plays a role in making ITM Texpo Eurasia 2012 the largest and the most comprehensive fair of Eurasia. Yalçın said that the originating point of the fair is the growth trend that Turkey has been through and - in line with this trend - the need to expand and to enter into new markets.
