Despite the economic uncertainty taking place in the global scale, the Spring Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Accessories and Fabric Fair held in China has displayed an increase in the number of its visitors. Taking place since 2014, the Spring Edition which is held in Shanghai has realized a third increase in the rate of its visitors with the number reaching to 71,000. Compared to its 62.649 clients in 2015, an increase of 13 per cent was recorded in 2016. This year from 27 countries, 3,155 exhibitors participated in Intertextile Shanghai.
Commenting on the participation and percentage of visitors at the Accessories and Fabric Fair, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. Senior General Manager Wendy Wen, in her speech; “We expected sentiment to be down somewhat this year, but we were pleasantly surprised by the relative optimism from exhibitors and buyers by the end of the fair.”
Participation from Turkey at Intertextile Shanghai
At Intertextile Shanghai, four Turkish firms, Dizayn Etiket San. Tic. A.Ş., Kipaş Denim, Orta Anadolu ve Soktaş Dokuma İşletmeleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş, took place as participants. Speaking upon the fair with our publishing group, Mr. Ali Olgun, Sales and Marketing Manager of Dizayn Etiket, which takes place as one of the high-capacity label manufacturers in Turkey, quoted his wordings as follows, “As Dizayn Etiket, we participated in Intertextile Shanghai with the idea that it could contribute in promoting our factory in Bangladesh to the Far East. At the same time, we also saw this as an opportunity for presenting our SS2017 collection. We have exhibited products with respect to weaving, printing, screen printing, heat transfer, cardboard, labeling and RFID. We had visitors not only from China, but also from mant different countries. We are delighted for receiving appreciation and recognition from our collections. It was a good fair for us.”
“The March Fair, Was More Calm Compared to the October Fair”
Mr. Yücel Bayram, Sales Manager of Kipaş Denim, with its 35 years of experience, placing quality and efficiency in to its production, conveyed his thoughts upon Intertextile Shanghai to our publishing group. Stating that as Kipas Denim, they had displayed denim crotch and non-denim products at the fair, Mr. Bayram in his evaluation, gave the following statements: “The fair was quite professional in terms of organization. However, the March fair which introduced spring/summer collections, was more calm compared to the October fair. The number of participating factories as well as the number of visitors was below our expectations. Despite this fact, providing our visitors the best service, we believe that we will be gaining clients for our company. We plan to continue our participation in the fair.”
Participants From Other Countries
Opinions of companies from other countries participating in the trade show, indicated that the economic problems was not affecting the fair process. Jose Maria Loren, on behalf of the Spanish accessory supplier Luca Cuccolini, stated that the fair also prepared the environment for many business deals for the year 2016. Indicating that as Luca Cuccolini, they will not be affected by the economic uncertainity, Jose Maria Loren quoted as follows, “This fair is not only attracting the attention of the Chinese, but also the Asian clients. And this enables us the possibility to sell our products.” On the other hand, Aris Arakelian, the Commercial Director of the French Company Malhia Kent, stated as follows, “As the technology in the market grows by the day, we believe that a resistance to the economic distress will be taking place. Even on the first day of the fair, we have received a large order and thanks to our negotiations carried out with China, we have achieved many business opportunities.”
