International Competitiveness Project Support Meeting

International Competitiveness Project Support Meeting which is hosted by Istanbul Textile Raw Materials Exporters Union (ITHIB) is held at Export Complex Sehit Omer Halisdemir Conference Centre at 26th of November 2018. Meeting with the presence of Mehmet Ali Kilickaya, Deputy General Manager of the Ministry of Trade, the meeting was held with the exporters operating in the textile sector and the latest period’s state assistance are discussed.

İTHİB Chairman of the Executive Board Ahmet Öksüz who gave the opening speech of the committee, also stated that; “In January-October period, there was a significant increase of the number of state assistance applications made by the firms compared to the previous year. These supports provided  a big share to our companies in the wiev of records we have broken. However, in order to realize more value added exports; we need to learn more about state assistance and bring new horizons for our companies with the support given. “

Value Added Support to Exporters

Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, Deputy General Manager of the Ministry of Trade, Exports, emphasized that the Ministry has been supporting the exporters with the high added value product support from the preparatory stage for exportation and that they will continue to be the guarantor of the exporters by developing the existing supports further. In the second part of the meeting, Hürol Karlı, one of the experts of the Ministry of Trade Export General Directorate, made a presentation about International Competitiveness Improvement Projects (UR-GE). In particular, the presentation of small and medium-sized companies, which provided them with the first steps to export, received great attention.

Textile Support International

In the following period, İTHİB also introduced International Competitiveness Improvement (UR-GE) projects, which are planned to take part in the segments of knitted fabrics, woven fabrics, apparel industry, hand-knitted yarn and technical textiles. In addition to the current project in the segments of home textiles, textile exporters are expected to be more effective in the international arena with projects planned to be launched in many sub-headings.
