The world's most important home textile fair Heimtextil, was performed between 8-11 January in Frankfurt, Germany. In terms of to increase Turkish textile industry's efficiency of the world market that has great importance, 164 companies participated from our country to the Heimtextil Home Textile Fair. The fair, which was organized by Messe Franfurt, brought textile manufacturers, designers, industry professionals and visitors together.
At Heimextil, which was this year's first industry fair, 2 thousand 718 companies from 61 countries had a booth. At the fair, walls, bathroom, glass, kitchen and table linens and bedspreads, decorative items, wall systems, yarn, curtains, home appliances, home textiles, home accessories, bath and kitchen textile products and textile machines were exhibited. Heimtextil, which is an international platform, in a sense became 2015's trend setter with trend presentations and by discussing in seminars developments in home textile design in the next year.
Heimtextil fair where every aspect of home textiles were reflected such as from furniture fabrics to curtains; from embroidery designs to thermal prints; from pillow to bedding; from wallpaper to carpet; from kitchen to bathroom textile products, has seen great interest this year. The fair not only exibited the new textile products for interior architecture and concepts, but also presented the next season's trends to visitors.Yaşar Küçükçalık Association of Home Textile Industrialists and Businessmen (TETSİAD) Chairman said, the Turkish industrialists were the focus of attention at Heimtextil Fair also adding "Fairs should be government policy, if Turkish Airlines (THY) became Lufthansa's opponent, the contribution of the government can not be disputed.”Küçükçalık, reminding Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TİM) has shown the target to home textile industry for 2023 as 10 billion dollars, "In order to do this, we have to do our best. Duty of our managers is for them to provide an appropriate platform for it" said. TETSİAD Chairman Küçükçalık continued his sentences as follows:"I see the Istanbul International Home Textiles Fair (EVTEKS) which we organized this year the twentieth, as a very successful fair. Now we have become a country like China and Germany that influences the home textile. If we remember that we started many years ago in the hotel rooms, where we come now is admirable. The time is speed and serving time. Our intention is to turn the fair business into a "roadshow" with our colleagues, when we hit the road, we want to visit 3-5 countries for two days and sell them goods.We started as producing raw materials in 1950, in present they want us to be branding. In an environment with full of peace, no problem will be experienced in any of the industry. We need to use our culture and geography very well."

"New & Next" platform was a unique resource for fresh design ideas. In this area, companies such as CrishomeTex, Sirftex (Portugal), Colorkitchen, Lanui (Germany), Devine Marquise (Belgium), Orgamint (Latvia) and Slowcolor(America) took place.At the "European Digital Textile Conference", the future of textile printing was discussed. Heimtextil visitors, obtained information about latest technologies, market opportunities, mass printing and use of sustainable production methods at the European Digital Textile Conference which was held for the first time. Digital prints that converts blank walls and monotonous floors into vibrant home, which previously only used in the apparel industry, started being used in home textiles in recent years which was also exhibited at the fair with recent examples.
At the "Webchance" forum, e-commerce professionals talked about "successful advertising and sales on the Internet" for the retailers and new e-commerce players. At the forum, where examples about how the retailers should establish their virtual shops, how to grew up the business and increase sales by using the new media were given, the legal aspects of the work were also discussed.‘The Young Creations Award’ which this year the creative projects of students were awarded for the second time, the theme this year was "To turn the old to better", which means upcycling. This concept, whic has become very popular nowadays from fashion to interior architect, in apparel, home textiles, furniture manufacturing areas it has turned in protecting sources towards the use of materials. With this contest, Heimtextil, invites young people to design "upcycle" products for interiors.
