Evteks International Home Textile Fair which was held for 22nd times this year and more than 1000 firms from 26 countries participated was carried out in CNR Expo Center on 17- 21 May. In the fair which was organized by ITF Istanbul Fuarcılık and with the support of the Association of Turkish Home Textile Industrialists and Businessmen (TETSİAD), 133 thousands 61 sector professionals in total whose 93 thousands 972 were from home and 39 thousands 89 were from abroad took part.
Vice President of TETSİAD, Ali Sami Aydın who evaluated the fair in which many visitors from USA, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, England, Canada, United Arab Emirates, China, India, Italy, Spain and Romania attended, said “We have started to make our traditional products trend in Europe and American countries. Recently, Turkish loin cloth has become trend in USA. We saw the effect of this trend started in USA in the fair as well. European Union countries and USA showed great interest for our home textile products manufactured with lacy and inlaid hand works. Soon, we believe to launch these products into these markets, too.”
1, 5 Billion Dollars of Business Volume
Aydın who remarked that many special products from self-cleaning curtains to stainless and ant- allergic fabrics and to the organic fabrics in the fair, said “Now, we have also achieved to add innovation, design and R&D to our sector as well. Trend area we made in the fair is followed by foreigners curiously. As being the sector, we achieved to prove ourselves. We are waiting for the fair to create 1.5 billion dollars of business volume.”
Russian Buyers Came to Evteks for Turkish Curtain
Evteks Fair hosted for more than one thousands of brands such as Anka, Zorlu, Home Swett, Karaca, Soley, Özdilek, Verdi Tekstil. One another remarkable development in the fair became the great interest of Russian and Ukrainian buyers for Turkish curtains. Dr. Halis Ödel from Buldan Ödel Firm said “Buldan weaving and embroidery is about 2 thousands of years culture of Denizli. Interest for our Buldan inlaid bed lining, tablecloth, curtain, loin cloth and foulards became great by the countries like Russia being in the first place, Italia, Spain, Romania and Ukraine in Evteks.”
Home Textile Committee Gathered in İstanbul
Home Textile Committee which is carrying on activities within International Textile Manufacturers’ Federation gathered in Istanbul during Evteks Fair for the first time hosted by TETSİAD. In the meeting started with the opening speech of Yaşar Küçükçalık, the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Turkish Home Textile Industrialists and Businessmen (TETSİAD), Bashir Ali Mohammad who is the Chairman of the Board of Gulahmed that is one of world’s most important home textile manufacturers and one of the founders of Home Textile Committee attended. The meeting continued with the presentations made after the opening speeches.
