
The first 5 finalists who will proceed to the Turkey Home Textile Design Competition as its organized with the aim of raising new designers by bringing in newest, high added value and innovative products to the home textile industry, have been chosen. Amongst 12 competitors 5 participants were elected as the finalists with their project layouts presented to the board and now will compete to be ranked amongst top three. Top 3 designers will have the privilege to master English online, to register their design and to apply for a design scholarship abroad. A one-year EAT Jacquard Weaving Design Program License and user training for the first time will be provided with to the winner design at the competition
Aesthetics and Functionality are at the Forefront
Following the Master Class second phase trainings, the contestants designed their capsule collections consisting of home textile products, adhering to the theme of sustainability. The products in the collection were made ready for the third evaluation in an imaginery living area, in which the technical details of the products were also specified with the layout format. The first five finalists who receive the highest score as consequence of their layouts ranked according to the criteria’s such as suitability to the theme, material usage format, the expertise to express ideas and to deliver presentation and their names stated as follows: Birce Avcu-Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Fashion Clothing Design Department, Buse Sözen-Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi Faculty of Fine Arts Textile and Fashion Design, Nursima Toprak-Marmara Üniversitesi Textile Department, Pelin Aykar-Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi Fine Arts Faculty Textile and Fashion Design Department, Yaren İrem Özbay-Çanakkale 18 Mart Üniversitesi Textile and Fashion Design Department.
Fabric Production Process Begins
Competitors whom proceeded to the finals were given layout project development training programs to give way to their project work and to make them suitable for the industrial production under the coordination of the competition moderator and mentor. During the trainings, a design for each finalist to go into production was defined. Amongst the participants approved by UTİB, the final evaluation by the jury will be conducted following the production process under the guidance of moderator. Presentation coaching training as the last training phase of the competition will be held prior to final evalaution where each of the finalists will be given five minutes to deliver their speech regarding their collections.
