In Portello Fair Area in Milano, on 10-12 September, Italy's most important fabrics and accessories fair concept, Milano Unica hosted textile producers and designers in its 17th edition.
Speakers including Silvio Albini (Chairman of Milano Unica), CristinaTajani (Municipality Council Member of Milan Fashion and Design), Angela Missoni (Missoni Art Director), ClaudioMarenzi (Chairman of Sistema Moda Italia) and Carlo Calenda (Deputy Minister of Economic Development) as well as representatives, managers and stylists of important luxury clothing brands from Italy and foreign countries and Fashion System operators participated in the opening ceremony of the 17th of Moda in.
An increase of 14 % in the number of international visitors showed the growing value of Milano Unica once again. Significant increases both in the percentage of the visitors and the expension of the fair areas were recorded by the following countries: Great Britain, Belgium, the USA, Russia, Sweden, South Korea, France, North Korea, France, China and Japan.
Innovation is a Must
Making an assement on the subject, Chairman of Milano Unica, Silvio Albini said: ''Increased participation is the most positive point up to now. Rising figures of buyers in the best foreign markets have decreased our worries in the recent years and tend to show us that the crisis will end soon and there is still hope. These marks and the presence of new buyers were also encouraging for Chinese trade fair which will start in a shorter time than one month. The base of this fair, consists of the number of visitors and their sources. The number of participants plays an important role in terms of image and satisfaction. This edition showed us that you should always give chance and make innovation in order to gain the outstanding leader of a strategically important country such as China. As in the past, in 17th edition, the decor, services and events were appreciated by the guests. There were participants and foreign journalists, we realized that we should continue to innovate. We intend to start this idea in 4th edition of Milano Unica China which is scheduled for October 21-24 October 2013 in Shanghai.’’.
Chairman Albini heralded that the18th edition will be held in PortelloFieromilanocity Fair on 11-13 February 2014 and Spring / Summer 2015 collection will be exhibited once more.
