Previously announced to be held in Cairo, Egypt, between 20th to 23rd December, EGYSTITCH & TEX International Textile, Garment, Woven, Yarn, Finishing, Knitting, Hosiery Machines, Side Industry, Accessories and Chemicals Fair was postponed to 31st Janury-3rd February. Turkish firms, which will participate in the fair announced among the national level of trade fairs to be participated in 2012 and ranked as 268th by Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, can receive state support. In this regard, the undersecretary officials answered our questions and announced that the support will be given if there is participition of companies.
The Turkey's representative of the fair, Merkur Fair official, Ali Reyhanlı pointed out the effect of the political and social events in the Middle East. Expressing that there was not Textile and garment machinery fair organized in Egypt last two years, Reyhanlı added that the political chaos in the country interrupted the economy. ''In this respect, we postponed the fair to 31st January -3rd February 2013 because of the political chaos in the counrty by considering especially the referendum on the new constitution described on 15th december 2012. We thought that it was an advantage for the participants; it would not be good for the participants, because we could not organize this fair in such a chaotic period.'', said Reyhanlı.
Stating that Presidential Palace was just 5 minutes from the exhibition area and they would be in the heart of any kind of incident resulting from this situation, Reyhanlı continued his speech as follows : '' The exhibition area is in the heart of any kind of incident which may result from this situation. Organize a fair in an exhibition area near which there will be two opposite groups close to 3 million people can not be explained even with the madness.''. Expressing that they did not think about the ad or the expenses of the fair, Reyhanlı stated that they thought any potential lose of the participants when they decided to postpone the fair.
