DuPont which is one of the leader chemical firms of world, made inauguration of innovation center in Turkey which DuPont stated as key role in sustainable growth target, with ceremony which took place in Istanbul on 11April,2013. Inauguration of ceremony which many pressmen participated, took place with participations of Thomas G. Powell, President of DuPont Protection Technology; Dr. Simone Arizzi, Manager of science and technology of DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa Regions; Halide Aydınlık, Country Manager of Turkey; İlker Avcı, President of Turkey Prime Ministry Investment Support and Publicity Agent. There are also 11 centers of DuPont in global area except this innovation center which was opened for the purpose of being close to Turkish producers and market of Middle East. Areas in which these centers take part, lined up follows; Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Brazil, Mexican, USA, Russia and Switzerland.
DuPont aims to help study that includes preparation of groundwork of a strong Turkey in global area with new center which was opened in Turkey. DuPont Turkey which is part of network of Global DuPont Innovation Centers, will serve as eleventh innovation center of science firm DuPont in the world and 3rd innovation center which opened in Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. This innovation center which was opened by DuPont that respond to difficulties which constituted with rapidly increasing world population, with global ARGE investment of yearly 2.1 Milliard Dollars, focus on innovation activities which are based on scientific studies in food, building and construction, automotive and energy sectors.
Office In Turkey Actively Will Work
Authorities of DuPont who hosted in opening meeting of office in Turkey, gave specific explanations about the opening. Thomas G. Powell, who is president of DuPont Protection Technology, stated that center which was opened in Turkey, is the eleventh innovation research center in the world and 3rd innovation research center in Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. Also he emphasized that firm made a significant progress with this innovation office of Turkey in global area. Powell who stated the importance of innovation which is supported with science, for its own firm, remarked that they make real –time contact and interaction with over 10.000 scientists and engineers in the world. Powell emphasized that they try to provide real cooperation with customers, governments, non-governmental organizations, universities and other strategic thinkers about solutions of regional and even global issues. Dr.Simone Arizzi, Manager of Science and Technology of DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa Regions, who said that copartners of DuPont and thousands of scientists and engineers in the world will have opportunity of making contact each others from this center that was opened in Turkey, stated that they aim to establish new market segments by describing its stocks again by this means and increase its innovation’s rapidity.
AR-GE Budget of 2.1 Million Dollars
Arizzi who carried out the evaluations about event that Turkey is chosen in activity, stated that economy of Turkey is attraction center with its structure that is based on growth. Arizzi who said that economy of Turkey will be between the best 10 economies in the next 10 years. He also said that this confidence is approved with positive datas and BB + score of S& P, Credit Rating Agency. And he said that center plans thematic symposia which include customers meetings that will be made with participations of industry representatives and seminars that products and technologies of DuPont will be introduced, with its studies in the next term.

By going alive to DuPont Research Center which is in Geneva, in the opening, pre-view about fire clothing which was produced from modernist NOMEX® fabric which DuPont produce, attracted big attentions. Fire-resistance of high technology NOMEX® fabric which was produced in the consequence of studies of DuPont and AR-GE, is showed with this pre-view. Resistance of fire clothing that is plated with NOMEX® fabric which was exposed to fire of 1000 degree for 8 seconds in lab in Switzerland, is showed lively with test which was made as interactive. It is explained that external covering of fabric block that the heat enter by absorbing heat and the damage which heat will give to people is minimized by this means. It is emphasized that productions which are developed in international standards in Geneva, include factors such as practicability, knowledge and design. It is stated that these innovation tests of increasing protection on fabric surfaces, are supported by governments.
