Olaf Schmidt, indicated that technical textiles were considered to be one of the most significant driving forces regarding the growth of the textile industry.

Driving Forces of Growth; ‘Technical Textiles Sector’

Techtextil 2017, the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, which will be held between the dates of May 9-12, 2017, with nine months still to go before the doors open, has already booked 85 percent of its exhibition space. In his assessments regarding the topic, Mr. Olaf Schmidt, Vice President of Messe Frankfurt, quoted his wordings as follows; “Technical textiles rank among the most important driving forces of growth in the textile sector. The fact that so many companies have already registered for Techtextil 2017 is an indication of how dynamically the sector is developing”.

From conductive yarns, via smart textiles, to composites and lightweight constructions, Techtextil 2017 will present the complete spectrum of textile solutions for the automobile industry, construction and architecture, industry, medicine and clothing.

Techtextil 2017 Draws Great Interest

Up to the present, 750 companies from 39 countries have already booked their exhibition space at Techtextil 2017, which will be held in May. The participating companies include market leaders such as, Forster Rohner, Freudenberg, Groz-Beckert, IBENA Textilwerke, Lenzing, Mehler Texnologies, Outlast Europe, PHP Fibers, Sandler, Sattler PRO-TEX, Schoeller Textil, SIOEN Fabrics and Trützschler.

In addition to the participating companies, also the country pavilions have increased the size of their pavilions. While Belgium and Italy pavilions have increased their volume, companies from China, France, United Kingdom, India, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, Turkey and the USA, have already booked their exhibition spaces. Moreover, at the Event Texprocess, which will be held concurrently with Techtextil, insights into all aspects of textile processing, including textile finishing and digital printing will be presented. Texprocess, which hosted over 5,500 trade visitors in 2015, is also expected to draw great interest with its 2017 edition.
