Turkish members of Cotton Council International (CCI), COTTON USA Supply Chain Marketing Program and Chinese fabric manufacturers met in Shanghai. Beyteks, Ensar, Erdem, İskur, Matesa, Şahtaş, Uğurlular and Uspar made face to face interviews with Chinese fabric manufacturers.
Against certain yarn produced in Turkey, competitors maintains their prices. Even though Turkey sells yarn to China in small quantities, Chinese authorities predicts a bigger market potential for Turkish bussinesses. These talks, was the first step in the development of Turkish exports to China. In his statement İskur Textile Chairman of the Board Kadir Kurtul made after the event: " This journey, did not only provided the necessary understanding for the Chinese market, but also it was a priceless occasion in order to improve business relations with numerous companies" said.
After the three-day event special for participants, Turkish companies visited the businesses located in Nantong and Wuxi, met with their purchasing managers and evaluated the product demands. CCI has organized a total of 280 face to face meetings. Participants showed great interest in this first step in the direction of developing cooperation in the future. To the event as well as the Chinese textile manufacturers, having a production in Turkey and also Turkey's largest retailer LC Waikiki's China purchasing office attended.
