‘2013 Beltwide Cotton Conferences’ in which important information is shared in order to solve the problems of cotton manufacturers have been conducted in Texas on January 7–10, 2013. More than 2.000 attendants from 20 countries have taken place in conferences. In the conference in which every day is arranged with a different theme, solutions for increasing the profitability of manufacturers are introduced. The program of the conference is designed to present up-to-date information in basic matters such as new technologies, innovative manufacturing applications to American cotton manufacturers. While each day’s program is presented in a different concept in the conference, answers have been looked for all questions relating to cotton manufacturing process and economy.
‘Beltwide Cotton Conferences’ which is organized by National Cotton Council (NCC) each year gathers sector representatives who aim pure cotton manufacturing. Members of cotton sector, university and USDA researchers, ‘Extension’ personnel, consultants and service providers who are among attendants share up-to-date information with attendants. In 2013 Beltwide Cotton Conferences organized this year, answers have been looked for questions of weeds’ resistance, watering and how various insecticides show performance in 2012 season. Bill Robertson who is the Director of Agricultural Science, Soil and Its Physiology Unit of NCC has made a statement within the conference program. Robertson who has emphasized that climate conditions cause a gradually increasing pressure on product mixes and product decisions has underlined that one should have information about climate trends.
