Andritz, which is one of the leading manufacturers of international nonwoven technologies, was offer nonwoven solutions in Index 2014 which was held on 8th-11th April in Geneva, Switzerland. The last edition of Index, which is held every three years, was organized in 2011. 12,600 professionals visited the fair where there were 530 participants coming from every continent.
Andritz, which took part in Index 2014 with its brands ANDRITZ Küsters, ANDRITZ Asselin-Thibeau and ANDRITZ Perfojet, aims to offer reliable solutions to the market for the production of nonwovens. Andritz Group will introduce its new technologies including drying, finishing, drylaid, wetlaid, bonding that the brand has developed since the last edition of Index held in 2011.
The complete spunlace line, which is produced for the newly emerging markets, consists of the combination of the technology of the following brands; ANDRITZ Asselin-Thibeau, ANDRITZ Perfojet and ANDRITZ Küsters. The technology experts of ANDRITZ work on efficiency of such resources as electricity, gas, water, chemicals, air management and carbon footprint. The successful studies allowed new developments in such new technologies as bonding with water power-hydro entanglement, dewatering, airdryer and double doffer for neXline spunlace. With NeXlinespunlace, ANDRITZ guarantees efficiency and reduced costs with one resource to nonwoven manufacturers. In addition, the product quality of the line was proved and certified according to EDANA / INDA Guidelines. JetlaceEvolution needlepunch and neXline nonwoven fabric provide productivity for a wide range of industrial products in terms of high quality and bonding strength for long-standing products and technical fibres such as automotive and filtration.
For the needlepunch market, the eXcelle double card with TT outlet system is another innovation by Andritz that is now applied to cross lapping. It can be set to provide highly uniform carded webs with MD/CD ratios well below 3:1.
Thanks to the TT card system, the cross lapper is thus capable of producing light to heavy fabric weights with balanced MD/CD strength ratios and allows the production of needled felts with low to high elongation percentages and with high tensile strength values. Andritz also presents Zéta drafting unit, designed for speeds of over 40 m/min and with unequalled torque to provide high drafting capabilities and minimize aspect distortion during fabric elongation.
In addition, Andritz has also developed an innovative calender concept incorporating proven technologies from the production of paper and nonwovens. The teXcal trike, a 3-roll calender with two separately controlled system rolls, provides outstanding productivity and flexibility in the production of technical textiles. The concept offers the teXmaster system with closed-loop operation for inline quality measurements on the product (for example air permeability measurement). The direct analysis of the data reached at the calender outlet is used to control the system rolls.
