Fashion Cities Have Important Events
Sven Eriskat, Berlin manager of Die PR-Berater that organizes WHITE LABEL fair said that a platform to supply the products is needed in the long term in an event like Berlin Fashion Week (BFW). Eriskat added; “A fashion city needs this; for example in Paris there are not only displays, but also Texworld. Berlin and BFW have got over in recent years. Initially, only designers were meeting in the metropolis twice a year. A significant portion of the work was being done in another place, in Düsseldorf. Most of the showrooms are still there and buyers go there and order collections. This is changing nowadays. Fashion city Berlin is experiencing a boom and thus fashion week becomes more professional every year. The number of showrooms in Berlin is increasing. And apart from inspirations and amusing parties remaining for buyers from fairs, they are receiving orders now. This is done not only by Germans but rather by foreign visitors. Even the company Igedo has created a new platform called ‘The Gallery’ in Berlin and this demonstrates the change in the branch. Berlin has become a place for German fashion industry.
Chinese Suppliers To Address European Market
Underlying that with WHITE LABEL the suppliers will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their products directly to Germany and to know this market, Eriskat said; “Companies can use WHITE LABEL for controlling their current suppliers. They can find the answer to the question “Do I really purchase my product in the best quality and the best price?”. Companies can extend and optimize their supplier spectrums at WHITE LABEL”. Pointing out that China is the biggest and most important textile manufacturer in the world, Eriskat said that price, quality and flexibility concepts are important for the producers there. Emphasizing that with the 2nd edition, WHITE LABEL will open doors only to Chinese manufacturers but to manufacturers from all over the world, Eriskat highlighted that Chinese companies reached certain quality standards and accepted by CHINATEX can participate to the fair.
Eriskat explained that they expect the participation of approximately 100 companies and 1000 visitors come to the first event and argued that this will double up in the second edition to be held in 2013. Eriskat ended his words as; “German fashion industry is one of the most important “casts” for worldwide suppliers. With WHITE LABEL, we want to be the supplier platform in Germany”.
