Italian textile machinery manufacturers, which give direction to the textile industry, were met with their Turkish business partners at the International Textile Machinery Fair held in June. As achieved in previous years, more than 110 Italian machinery manufacturers, met at the Istanbul Tüyap Congress Center in cooperation with the Italian Foreign Trade and Promotion Agency (ITA) and the Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (ACIMIT), had the opportunity to launch their most contemporary textile machinery and technologies to the Turkish market.
“Turkey is the Second Spot in which Italian Textile Machineries are Exported the Most”
Alessandro Zucchi, President of ACIMIT, stated that while making their preparations for the fair intensively and said, “Turkey is one of the major markets for Italian textile machinery manufacturers” while making statements about the Turkish market with the following, ‘’in 2021, textile machinery exports worth of 269 million Euros were made possible from Italy to Turkey. The trade relations of Turkey and Italy in the textile industry dates back to ancient times. To say so, if we look at export figures to Turkey, we can see that there has been an increase at around 9 per cent every year in the last five-year period. Also, I can say with a confidence that nearly 300 manufacturers in Italy, probably most of them, are exporting their machinery the Turkey. Turkey now positioned as the second largest market after China.’’

While underlining that the Italian textile machinery manufacturers, under the umbrella of ACIMIT, which focus on economic and environmental sustainability, ACIMIT Director Federico Pellegata expressed that they aim to offer solutions that will provide added value to Turkey in this context: ’’ Sustainability has become an important element for competition in the textile industry.
