Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association (UTİB), which focuses on US as the target country and continues its work in line with this direction, accelerated its speed to increase the market share of its members in US with its national participation organizations. While emphasizing on their participation with 55 companies in total in 2 different fairs in July which held in US which is an important and growing market in terms of Turkish textile sector exports, UTİB President Pınar Taşdelen Engin said, “In the first half of the year, we achieved 253 million dollars of exports to US as a sector with a 13 percent growth. Even if we release a surplus compared to last year, these records are not adequate for us.
US is the Major Choice in Textile Imports
We can export to US, the world's largest importer, in excess of a billion dollars. We believe that we can achieve this goal with the normalization of economic conditions and the regaining of price competitiveness.” While talking about their efforts on adding branding to quality and innovation, Engin said, “Our companies attract attention with their quality and innovative products. Bursa plays an important role in the development of the Turkish textile sector at that point. We need to increase the number of our branded companies in order to strengthen our presence in the US market. In the first half of the year, we, as UTİB, exported to US with an increase of 11 percent, amounting to 58.5 million dollars. We will continue our efforts to reach our export potential both for Bursa and Turkey in general.”
